Katie is getting more confident on her feet every day. She had a fun Christmas, she got a fuzzy banana squishmallow and clothes from Mom and Dad, a fun bath toy from Abuelita (Paul's coworker, Maria), books from Grandma Wendy, and a Yoto from Nana and Grandpa. A Yoto is a little speaker that reads audio books from cards. Katie and Mary have loved it. She babbles a lot in ways that sound like real words. For example, she grabbed something off the floor and said, "I got it!" or she climbs up onto something and says, "I did it!" Mary said funny things this week: I asked her, "Do you want to go to the store with me?" she said, “I think I’m too busy to go with you”. She makes up her pretend names based on things she wears and does the same for me, Katie, and Dad. I asked her, "Will you eat an egg?" She said, "But not today, how about tomorrow?" I was getting ready for church and Mary was playing when I said, "Please go eat your brea...

Katie said bus, yes, and please. She is getting better at walking and has started doing it without my prompting. She is getting better and catching her balance, changing direction, and pacing herself. Mary can do a somersault, she learned that in dance class. Dad: Will you hold my hand? Mary: I’m sleeping!; Mom: Will you grab that for me? Mary: I don’t think so, I’m so tired.; (Puts a blanket and pillow on the floor in the kitchen) Mary: "This is a good bed for me." (Proceeds to pretend to go to sleep); Mary: You spoiled a perfect Christmas, mom! Monday I spent the whole day cleaning the house. We took a break at noon to go to Walgreens. We finally sold the stain sprayer then picked up our Christmas cards. We came home and I addressed and mailed the cards. I did some meal prep by making chicken rolls and cooking some bacon for my lunches and breakfast. Dad came home from work and brought home some treats. I taught violin that night to Alex and Daisy. Our secret santa gifted u...

Katie has been babbling a lot lately. I was making scones and she came up to me and babbled but it sounded like she said, "I wanna touch it." I said: No, you can't touch it. Katie: Touch it? I said you're welcome and Katie copied me and it sounded really good! We played a game where she would sign "again" and I threw her onto Mary's bed. She would climb down and we would do it again. She likes to stick her tongue out when she is talking and it is super cute. She took 12 steps all on her own on Saturday! Mary got upset this week when she got the hiccups and when she could see her breath when it was cold outside. She said, "I'm smoking! I don't want to smoke. Katie started crying and Mary said, "Katie is making sadness." Monday Dad slept in until 10 am (recovering from a long flight and jet lag). We got up to Logan by 1 pm and got some delicious Cafe Sabor. We went to First Dam to eat. The girls loved running around. We went to USU ...
