Katie: Katie started clapping this week! It is so cute and Mary loves that there is a game they can play together now other than peek-a-boo. Mary will clap and Katie will join in and they laugh together. Katie turned 10 months old on Sunday! Mary: Funny things Mary said this week: "what are you up to?" "Where's Paul and Sarah? Those are great names!" Mary can spell her own name now! She surprised me when I asked her and she said all the letters in the right order. I'm so proud of her! She also impressed her nursery teacher by telling her all her colors and all her animals. Mom: This week we stayed home a lot but I continued to do well with exercising, tracking my calories, getting my steps in, reading, and writing the screenplay. Dad: Dad had a rough week at work and was feeling really discouraged this weekend but resolved to take what he can control into his own hands and try not to let his job ruin his mental and physical state. Katie: Katie is pulling herself up on furniture now, she is motivated to keep up with her sister! Mary: Mary says nap when she means map. Mary says, "I want you to stay with me, I don’t want to lose you" at night when it's time to go to bed. How can anyone say no to that?? Mom: This last week was a successful one in terms of reaching my goals. I did my ec's every day (writing, exercise, playing violin, reading scriptures, and reaching my step goal) I also tracked my calories honestly and consistently. Dad: Dad had another rough week at work. He is meeting with his boss to make changes that will relieve the burden on his and his team's shoulders. He works so hard, we are so grateful to him and proud of him! This week's activities: Monday Paul came home early and we planned a recurring Disney trip for our family to take in the first quarter of the year. I went to the optometrist to get my glasses fixed. Katie : Katie had two more teeth poke through this week! The two other top incisors. Katie has moved into Mary's room - now her and Mary's room! We built her crib, she has been very cramped in the pack and play. She seems to really like it already. Mary : Mary grabbed a mermaid dress off the clearance rack at Walmart and it was only $1! We had to get it and she loves it! Mom : I did pretty good with exercising M-F this week but we crashed out with eating on the weekend. I did not get a lot of sleep Friday night and that definitely didn't help. I'm looking at data analytics to make some extra money. Paul might do it too, if he has time. Uprooted and my new glasses came on Monday and it has been great to have the book and continue to work on my screenplay of it. The glasses are too big and the prescription didn't come out great, so I have to deal with that this next week. Katie: Katie is full crawling this week! She is getting fast and can go across the room on her own. She has gotten stuck under the bed in the playroom and under the couch. She keeps pulling herself up onto her knees. Katie had a good time playing in the sand at Tahoe. I was able to keep her from eating it this time. The Durocher's liked giving Katie stuffed animals when she was at their house because she would grab them and try to eat them. Katie liked taking over Mary's lollipop at the parade. Mary: Mary loved going to the beach at Lake Tahoe. She played with Lizzy (7 yo) and the kids that were camped out on either side of us. She loves playing with the slime she made at the library. She was not sure about the parade on Friday. She liked getting the toys and candy but didn't like the loudness or getting sprayed with water.
