Monday was MLK day and Paul only had to work for a couple of hours. We had a yummy breakfast then he left. I got the dishes and laundry started before getting Katie down for a nap and exercised. Mary watched a movie then played while I finished cleaning. I tried putting Katie down for a nap in the afternoon but it didn't take. Paul got home and we went on a family walk to Green Valley Park. Katie didn't really sleep on the walk like I hoped she would have but she slept when we got home. We had dinner, deep cleaned for an hour then I taught violin. Lizzy didn't quite have Lightly Row down but I still got her started on Song of the Wind. Christa's parents are in town for Joy's birthday and Christa wanted to spend more time with them so Joe came to the lesson with Lizzy. He is so different from Christa, He's quiet and seems awkward while Christa is the easiest person to get along with that I have ever met. Paul and I got the girls to bed. Mary woke up a...

Monday morning Paul was panicked because his car wouldn't start. Luckily we had picked up our groceries the day before so I had no plans to drive anywhere that day. Paul took the Honda to work and the crisis was averted. Mary, Katie and I had a relaxed morning and played with Mary's magnet toys. I put Katie down for her morning nap and exercised. Mary helped me rotate the laundry and I finished putting together my salads for the week that I had partially prepared the day before. I got Katie down for her afternoon nap and cleaned up the kitchen and wrote my weekly journal entry before Katie was up again. I got dinner for me and Mary (cowboy casserole) then I showered so I wouldn't stink while teaching violin that evening. Paul came home and tried to start his car again but the cold had drained his car battery. I taught violin that night and Lizzy played Lightly Row really well. I told her to practice with the metronome and we can try to pass it off this next week. ...

Monday I cleaned, as usual, and taught violin. I have officially been teaching violin for 1 year! Wednesday we babysat Josie and Jack Durocher while Lindsay taught REFIT at Fitness for 10. Mary loved playing with friends. Mary played with Katie while Katie was in her swing. When I tried to join them Mary would shoo me away so they could play together in private. I texted Aunt Barbara to check in. She said the fires are far away from them and that they are safe - what a blessing! Our prayers have been thoughtful of those whose lives have been impacted by the LA wildfires. Thursday we went to the weekly exercise class where Lindsay Durocher taught REFIT. I bathed both girls and took some pictures of Mary to put in her memory journal. Friday was Mary's 3rd birthday! We made waffles and gave her one present in the morning, a toy rocket launcher (it was bought with the money gift we got from Great-Grandma Terry). We met the Gochenour's at Ponderosa Park and played on the s...

For New Year's Eve on Tuesday we went into Reno and had dinner at BJ's, Mary was hungry and had a hard time at the beginning but as soon as she got her food she was happier. Katie was happy for most of dinner but soon after we got our food she also got hungry. I ate half my dinner then fed her in the car and was joined shortly after by Paul and Mary. We got some pumpkin cookies at Smith's then drove home. We got home in time to go to the party at the church but I was tired and didn't want to tackle taking 2 kids by myself. New Year's Day was lowkey. We slept in, took turns exercising, made a late breakfast together, went on a family walk, and Paul needed to go into work for a couple of hours in the late afternoon. Friday we had a bit of cabin fever and got out of the house by going to the library for an hour in the afternoon. There was another little girl there that was very outgoing with Mary and her dad was busy with applying to jobs on the library computers s...
