This week was Paul's last week of paternity leave.  He was awesome at taking care of cooking and helping me nap.  Tuesday, we went to a different park in Fernley, and I sat with Katie while Paul and Mary were exploring the park.  Wednesday, we ran errands in Reno and had a little family date while we were in town.  Thursday, we tried a new (to us) restaurant in Fallon then went home and watched Halloween movies.   Saturday, I made Texas sheet cake to take to the ward trunk or treat that night. I'm guessing everyone liked it because the pan was scraped clean when I grabbed it to take home. Mary dressed up as Ghost Spider from the spider-man tv show.  I took her to the party and Paul stayed home with Katie.  We had a chili dinner, the youth put on games for the primary and Mary played the donut on a string game, fishing for candy, and a cup game.  Then we went into the parking lot for trick or treating and Mary was so excited to go home ...

Paul took Mary to the park every day this week. ShaLay Gochenour was so sweet and brought us dinner Monday night. Wednesday, April Kimball came to visit. She brought a yummy watermelon from her garden and a baby swing for Katie that Katie has just loved! Mary was not a fan of her baby swing, and we are grateful Katie feels differently haha.  Friday, we got a visit from my old RS President. She brought some books for Mary, flowers and gift cards. She is such a neat woman. This week has cooled down a lot and it finally feels like fall! We even got a little rain.  Saturday we all went to the park and Paul helped Mary carve her pumpkin when we got home. She loved it! This week has been a lot of resting for me, but Saturday night Katie slept five hours straight, which has been her longest stretch! The night before it felt like she was up every hour, so I woke up very refreshed Sunday morning.  Some funny things Mary said this week were, “Don’t be mad dad! Take a deep br...

We had a good week as a family this week.  Paul took Mary to the park every day.  The ward brought us meals, the relief society sisters in the area made a baby quilt for Katie and so many people have reached out to me to check in, we have felt very loved! Monday, we got Katie's blood tested and took her to her 2-week appointment on Thursday.  The test came back normal, and she is back up to her birth weight.  She slept for almost 5 hours Thursday night; I couldn't believe it! We were cleaning up after playing with playdough and Mary said, "look at this mess!" We watched Tarzan this week and Mary liked the "gorillella's". Mary - our little drummer Mom cuddles with Mary and Katie Mary draws Mom and a spaceship Mary and Dad play with dinosaurs Mary with her puzzle Mary and Dad cuddle Katie is 2 weeks old!   Monday, Paul took Mary to Lattin Farms to look at their pumpkin patch.  Mary got to see their goats, chickens, and ducks as well as pick out a pumpkin to carve, she had a blast!  Nana made us a yummy dinner of homemade bread and chicken noodle soup that night.  I had just finished feeding Katie and Nana was helping get Mary in her pajamas when Katie spit up a lot, I kind of freaked out and yelled at Paul to come help and he walked in the room to see Mary running around with her shirt on her head like a little caveman child while Nana was helping me get Katie cleaned up, it was quite the sight! Tuesday, we took Katie to the pediatrician for her first visit and the doctor said she looks healthy and everything we asked her about is normal for newborns, so that was comforting.  Katie is already a very new experience compared to Mary but we're glad to see she is healthy and doing well.  We got Mary a flu shot while we were there then we did a quick Costco run,...
