Monday was Christmas Day! We woke up to find we had a light dusting of snow in our backyard. It was the first snow of the year and a Christmas miracle! Paul made a delicious breakfast of blueberry muffins, eggs, and bacon. We read Luke 2 then opened the gifts. Mary got a coloring pad and bows from Nana and Grandpa, a dress and books from Grandma Roberts, flash cards and blocks from her Roberts great-grandparents, and toys from Mom and Dad. After we opened gifts we cleaned up a bit then watched a couple NBA games. I tried to put Mary down for a nap but she was too excited. After my second attempt to put her down for a nap we facetimed with Nana. Mary was excited to show off her dance moves and tell Nana and Grandpa all the new words she had learned. Then we watched Christmas movies for the rest of the day and kept up our Roberts Christmas tradition of having pizza on Christmas.
Tuesday, we drove to Reno and went to a trampoline park in the morning. Mary and I have been before, but it was the first time for Paul, Sam, Emily, and Andy. We all had a great time, especially Mary. Then we went to an Indian restaurant for lunch that was super delicious. Mary fell asleep after that, so I stayed in the car with her while Paul went with his siblings to walk around the mall for a little while then we went home and watched movies.
Wednesday, Sam, Emily, and Andy drove home. Mary kept asking to play with them after they left, she had so much fun with her aunt and uncles. Happy anniversary to Jacob and Brianna on Thursday! Paul went back to work and Mary and I went to our weekly exercise class/play group. It was nice to talk to the other moms, I hadn’t seen them for a couple of weeks and Mary loved playing with her friends. We got home and I cleaned our house and got the Christmas stuff put away.
I taught Paula with the sisters then I went home and picked up Paul and Mary to drive to Reno for our New Year's Eve celebration. We went to Barnes and Noble, which was really fun, then went to the Cheesecake Factory.
Sunday, I substituted in primary for singing time. It went well but I wish I was behind the piano instead of leading the music. We had the sisters over for dinner then went to Gochenour’s for a New Year's Eve party. It was fun and we got to meet two more couples who live in Fernley.
