Monday I had my first violin lesson with Lizzy Seamons (5yo), she is in the ward and I think it went really well! I'm excited to keep teaching her. Mary and I were playing and I didn't do something how she wanted so she corrected me and said, "that's better!". We gave her a piece of cheese to eat and she took a bite, closed her eyes, and rubbed her tummy while saying, "Mmmm, de-yishes!" (delicious).
Wednesday was Mary's birthday and she turned two! We drove into Reno for her wellness check then went to the children's museum for a few hours before going home. It started snowing after we got home and Paul had to drive home in some scary conditions but thankfully got home safely. We got 16 inches of snow in a two hour period! That night we had a little pizza dinner to celebrate, gave Mary a little cupcake, sang happy birthday and she opened presents from her grandparents and us. She got clothes (that she wore to her party on Friday), a unicorn game, and some dinosaur toys from Nana and Grandpa, dress ups from Grandma Roberts, a book from her Great Grandma Terry, then Paul and I got her a little tea set, dinosaur toys, a Bluey toy, and a llama fidget popper.
Paul got up early on Thursday to shovel the driveway. The roads were still pretty snowy so he went into work a little later and had a fun breakfast with us.
Friday the roads were pretty bad again and I was worried we would have to cancel Mary's birthday party but all the girls came! We got the house cleaned up and decorated, then Josie Durocher got dropped off, ShaLay and her girls came, then Megan and Kynlee came half-way through the party. We played pin the tail on the dinosaur and dinosaur hopscotch, colored some dinosaurs, had dino nuggets for lunch, and then we sang happy birthday to Mary, had cake, and opened presents. She got a big squishmallow from Josie, a really cute tea set from the Gochenours, and some dinosaur toys and a baby doll from Kynlee. The girls had a great time playing with the toys together for the rest of the party. After everyone left we cleaned up and watched the new episodes of Bluey on Disney+ while we waited for Paul to come home.
Saturday I helped Paul get some stuff ready for his trip to Japan next week, he is leaving Monday morning and will be there the whole week. After we got the stuff ready, he went to work for a couple of hours and Mary and I went to Paula Del Peloso's house for a missionary lesson. They signed up to feed the sisters that day, so I got to have lunch with them too, which was fun. Mary had a lot of fun playing with Paula's daughter, Penny. Paul and I got home about the same time and then we deep cleaned and had family time.
Sunday Paul was getting Mary's shoes on and he was telling her to push her foot into her boot and she said "I'm trying!" Mary got a very nice birthday present from the nursery. They gave her a coloring book, a little bear, and some fun hair elastics. We fed the sisters dinner in the afternoon then Facetimed with Matt and Hannah so they could say happy birthday to Mary and we got to see Addie and baby Miles.
