Monday, Paul had a big meeting that he presented in and, as always, he did a great job! I stuffed some stockings for the sister missionaries as a service project for our ward, and I actually went teaching with them that night. We taught a couple that I met last week, and it was a very nice, spiritual lesson about the Book of Mormon. I was sad to hear of Elder Ballard's passing as well. I am glad that he is reunited with Barbara.
Tuesday, we did a little more potty training and Mary is doing really well. Later we met up at the park with my ministering sister, Kim, and we got to know each other better. Mary had fun playing with a couple of other little girls even in the cold weather. That night I taught my first violin lesson, and I was nervous. I kind of rushed through everything but my student, Brandon, is pretty musical so he will pick it up in no time.
Wednesday, we had a playdate with ShaLay, we went on a walk then the girls played with toys together. Thursday, we had our weekly play group. Friday, we went to library reading time and did crafts, making paper candied apples.
In the afternoon we met up with Debbie who is in the RS presidency with me and we visited a sister in the ward who has had a hard life. Since 2019 she has lost her husband, her two daughters and a cousin. We had a nice conversation and I shared John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" and Matthew 11:29-30: "Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." I bore my testimony that Jesus Christ suffered for her so she could give these trials to Him, and He could make them light and that He loves her. Then we prayed together. There was a nice Spirit in her home when we left.
Saturday, we taught with the sisters again. We went to a part member family's home where the husband has been a lifelong member, and the wife is a non-member. We got to know them for a little bit and then the wife, Paula, turned to the sisters, and said she is ready to be baptized. The sisters were in shock because it is the first time this companionship has visited. We are all very excited for her baptism in a couple of weeks.
Mary has been very helpful this week and loves to help me clean up. She will often hand me things and say "hee ya go".
