April 8 - 14 2024

 Monday night Mary jumped off of a bench in our room and hit her eye on our bed frame which resulted in a pretty bad black eye.  Tuesday Mary and I packed up for our trip and reached out to Barbara Cook to see if we could come stay with them for a few days.  Mary got up that night from having a nightmare about bees and couldn't sleep in her bed.

Wednesday we drove to Bruce and Barb's house in Laguna Hills.  Mary was so good in the car and we were able to get there at 4:30 pm.  We had a nice time visiting with them before we made a spaghetti dinner together.  They have a little kitten which Mary adored and that immediately broke the ice for Mary to feel comfortable in their home.

Thursday we went to Legoland.  I have never been and Paul hasn't been since he was a kid, so we were excited to check it out.  We went on a dinosaur ride, ninja ride, and our favorite was either the mummy ride or a submarine ride where we saw cool underwater animals.  Mary got to play in some Lego themed playgrounds, her favorite being a ball pit one outside the mummy ride.  We checked out a lot of Lego displays and Mary got to do some Lego building stations.  After that we drove to the beach and played in the sand for a little bit before turning in for the night.  It was too cold to play in the water.  Mary came up to me with a piece of paper on her eye and said, "I'm a pirate! Arrr!"

Friday we went to the San Diego Zoo which was a lot of fun. We saw butterflies - we went into a room where they flew around us, same with some birds.  We saw lots of monkeys and we went to see the tiger a few times but it just stayed on its rock the whole day.  We also saw hippos, okapi, a jaguar, zebra, polar bears, lions, elephants, koalas, the giraffe's, rhino's, and snakes.  When we got back to Bruce and Barb's Bruce asked Mary if she had fun and she gave an enthusiastic nod.  He asked what her favorite animals were and she said "giraffe ... and elephant!"  She got to play with their cat for a little bit before we went to bed.

Saturday we went to the Los Angeles children's museum and Mary had a lot of fun playing there.  They had a section where you can touch starfish, anemone, and sharks.  Mary loved that. We went back to Bruce and Barb's after that.  We spent the afternoon with them and Andy came over and Paul and Andy played the guitar for a little bit then we all went to dinner at this yummy BBQ restaurant.  

Sunday we got packed up and said goodbye to Bruce and Barb before driving home.  Mary fell back to sleep pretty early on and was very pleasant for the car ride.  We got home at 4:30 pm and watched the new bluey episode.  Mary loves singing the ABC's and she says "dub-blue" for W.

Monday I got up and pumped first thing. Paul was feeling like he wanted to go out and do something so we got ready and drove to Fallon to eat breakfast at the Wild Horse Cafe (we got takeout, of course). Mary was sad the whole drive down then Paul was sad because they soaked his whole breakfast in gravy. Everyone was upset there for a minute but we all calmed down and ate breakfast in the Fallon Walmart parking lot. Paul went in to see if they had egg whites, but they did not have them. We drove home and played outside for a bit. After I put Katie down for a nap I pumped again and Mary watched Snow White. She wasn't too scared of it, which surprised me. I cleaned up then Katie was up again. We got some Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner then watched Cinderella, which Mary loved! Monday we all slept in. When we all were awake we played in Mary's room then made breakfast. I put Katie down for a nap then pumped. Once Katie got up we drove to Fallon and got Little Caesars pizza. It was good but my tooth is still sore from getting a filling last week. We went to the park and played for an hour before heading back home. We went to Walmart for some fig newtons and chocolate milk. I tried to put Katie down for a nap but it didn't take. I pumped then cleaned up a bit. Paul made scones and I used up the rest of our honey and made honey butter. Katie went down for a nap then. We watched The Incredibles then Katie woke up. Paul fed her while I taught violin. I brushed Mary's teeth after the lesson then put Katie to bed and Paul put Mary to bed. I pumped again before going to sleep. Tuesday marked our 8 year anniversary of the day we got engaged. Monday morning Katie woke up at 7 and we saw Paul off to work. We played together until Mary got up at 7:45. I got my room cleaned then put Katie down for a nap. I had breakfast then finished writing my paragraph while Mary watched a movie. I watered the grass then cleaned the living room and kitchen before Katie woke up. I cleaned Mary's room and started the laundry then cleaned the playroom and office while the girls played with toys. I played with the girls then put Katie down for her second nap. I put a show on for Mary and I exercised and showered then watched Bluey with Mary. We made dinner together (spaghetti). Paul came home early so he could set up the squat rack that was delivered today. I made up the bed and Mary helped me. Katie woke up then. I brushed Mary's teeth while Paul practiced guitar.
