Monday we went to the Gochenour's house for Lydia's birthday party. Mary had a blast and loved playing "keepy uppy". She didn't really get why she didn't get to open the presents but all the kids liked playing with the toys. Monday through Wednesday it would be sunny and hot all day then it would rain from 6-8 in the evening. It was awesome and we loved sitting outside enjoying the rain together.
Tuesday I talked to Clare Schramm. Wednesday Mary had a bad dream, so we slept in but we made it to the library in the afternoon and met up with some friends. We got soaked when we left to go home because it rained a little earlier that day. Thursday we went to the exercise class and Mary joined in with the moms exercising. She was a great dancer and kept up really well!
Friday we got up at 4 am to get Paul to the airport for his business trip to Japan. Mary thought he was getting on a spaceship but now she says, "Daddy go on airplane?" whenever she asks to play with Paul and I have to tell her he's out of town. I was hoping to go back to bed when we got home but Mary wasn't sleepy so we did some deep cleaning then went to the library in the afternoon where they hosted a Shakespearean group who performed A Midsummer Night's Dream. I thought they did a good job and it was actually pretty funny. Mary fell asleep on the way home, around 5 pm, and she slept in until 7:30 am the next day. Paul got to Japan safely that night.
Saturday we went to the church for the Pioneer Day pancake breakfast. We sat by the Gochenour's and some other of our friends from the weekly exercise class before we went outside for pioneer games. They had tug of war on cinder blocks, sack races, and stick pull. Mary tried out the games but the little girls ended up breaking away and Decorating pine cones with flowers. After the breakfast we went to the farmer's market on the way home and we got some cupcakes and homemade jam. Sunday I played piano for the primary and that was a lot of fun. We ended the day with having the sister missionaries over for dinner.
Paul had a rest day the day after he got to Japan so he went with his coworkers around the Japanese countryside, a big mall area, and they got on a boat to check out some famous whirlpools!
