December 2-8 2024

Monday Mary didn’t get out of bed until 10:45, she has been so tired I was glad she got the rest she needed. Katie was so happy on Monday, she wasn’t fussy at all in her swing while I cleaned. Mary and Paul got in a little argument that night and after it was resolved she wandered up to him and looked up at him, both assertive and pleading, and said, “are you going to say sorry??”

Tuesday I got up at 4:15 to feed Katie then stayed up and exercised. I thought I would lay down again after I showered but that didn’t result in any sleep so I was pretty lethargic for the rest of the day and was starting to get a migraine. Mary got her coat on and played outside for a bit and Hannah FaceTimed (hoping to see Katie but she was napping). Mary showed Hannah and Addie the castle she was painting- she loved to make and draw castles since Elsa makes a big castle in the movie. We made a snow globe craft out of Mary’s handprint to take to the homeschool activity the next day. I was hoping Paul would grant me reprieve when he got home from work but he wasn’t feeling well and went to bed shortly after getting home. I was going to put Mary to bed for him but it took until after Mary’s bed time to get Katie to sleep so, gratefully, Paul got her to bed. Sometime during the day Mary let me know assuredly, “I know what I’m talking about!”

Wednesday we went to the Catholic Church down the street from the high school for the homeschool activity for the week. I had gone to the park activity and met the three moms that were there today. So it was my second time meeting them but I don’t know if they forgot or what happened because when I got till the classroom everyone stopped talking and it was very awkward. I got Mary’s snow globe handprint out for her to color and I tried talking to them but it was very awkward and I felt like I crashed their party. Luckily the kids were all very nice to Mary and played with her. The kids also loved looking at Katie and kept telling me how cute she is.

Thursday we went to the exercise class at the church. Lindsay taught ReFit to Christmas songs. It was just me, Lindsay, and April. Rosemary came for a little bit, she’s quirky and kind of makes me feel uncomfortable. It was just Mary and Jack Durocher out of the kids and Mary has a weird thing with Jack that she doesn’t like him playing out being around her, I don’t know why. Jack is a sweet boy, he’s a year younger than Mary. After exercise class we picked up our groceries and went out for lunch. Paul had a work dinner that night and got home after the girls were in bed.

Friday I was feeling sad that we hadn’t spent hardly any time with Paul this week and he’s going to Japan on Monday for two weeks. He felt bad too so he worked from home. We went to Reno and got kolaches, looked at legos at the mall, got treats, tacos, and watched movies together.

Saturday I got the house cleaned up while Paul took care of the car and got a haircut. That night Wendy got to our house and put the girls to bed while Paul and I went on a date to Reno. We went to Olive Garden then went to see the new Wicked movie. I really loved it! I thought they got a talented cast and the visuals were amazing. My parents also got into town that night.

Sunday we all went to church together. We had the relief society Christmas program/party during second hour. It was a good program of music and Christmas stories. After church Paul and Grandpa cooked breakfast and we played 9 innings, Paul won. Brother Johnson came over at 2 pm and Paul gave Katie a beautiful blessing. I fed her after the blessing and during that time Mary got sick of wearing a dress and changed into a t shirt. We took pictures then and Mary cried throughout the photo op. We hung around until having dinner at 4:30. We all cleaned up and watched the First Presidency Christmas devotional. Before heading back to the hotel, Nana gave us all haircuts.

Monday I got up and pumped first thing. Paul was feeling like he wanted to go out and do something so we got ready and drove to Fallon to eat breakfast at the Wild Horse Cafe (we got takeout, of course). Mary was sad the whole drive down then Paul was sad because they soaked his whole breakfast in gravy. Everyone was upset there for a minute but we all calmed down and ate breakfast in the Fallon Walmart parking lot. Paul went in to see if they had egg whites, but they did not have them. We drove home and played outside for a bit. After I put Katie down for a nap I pumped again and Mary watched Snow White. She wasn't too scared of it, which surprised me. I cleaned up then Katie was up again. We got some Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner then watched Cinderella, which Mary loved! Monday we all slept in. When we all were awake we played in Mary's room then made breakfast. I put Katie down for a nap then pumped. Once Katie got up we drove to Fallon and got Little Caesars pizza. It was good but my tooth is still sore from getting a filling last week. We went to the park and played for an hour before heading back home. We went to Walmart for some fig newtons and chocolate milk. I tried to put Katie down for a nap but it didn't take. I pumped then cleaned up a bit. Paul made scones and I used up the rest of our honey and made honey butter. Katie went down for a nap then. We watched The Incredibles then Katie woke up. Paul fed her while I taught violin. I brushed Mary's teeth after the lesson then put Katie to bed and Paul put Mary to bed. I pumped again before going to sleep. Tuesday marked our 8 year anniversary of the day we got engaged. Monday morning Katie woke up at 7 and we saw Paul off to work. We played together until Mary got up at 7:45. I got my room cleaned then put Katie down for a nap. I had breakfast then finished writing my paragraph while Mary watched a movie. I watered the grass then cleaned the living room and kitchen before Katie woke up. I cleaned Mary's room and started the laundry then cleaned the playroom and office while the girls played with toys. I played with the girls then put Katie down for her second nap. I put a show on for Mary and I exercised and showered then watched Bluey with Mary. We made dinner together (spaghetti). Paul came home early so he could set up the squat rack that was delivered today. I made up the bed and Mary helped me. Katie woke up then. I brushed Mary's teeth while Paul practiced guitar.
