April 14-20, 2025

Monday morning Katie got up once to eat then got up at 6:30 to eat again. She fell back to sleep but I got up to pump. Mary woke up and we had breakfast together. I cleaned up a little bit and started the laundry before we FaceTimed Nana. Katie woke up while we were on the call. I started making dinner while we were on FaceTime and I wasn't paying attention while I was cutting up the potatoes, I sliced right into my left thumb! It was just the tip, so it bled quite a bit but no stitches needed. We played outside then I put Katie down for a nap. I pumped then exercised. Mary helped me weed the front yard then Katie woke up. We went for a walk around the block and Mary rode on her scooter. We put the scooter back after one lap and Mary climbed in the scooter and I walked us to the park. We came home and finished putting dinner together for when Paul got home. Katie went down for a nap and I taught violin. I brushed Mary's teeth then Katie woke up. Katie joined me while I pumped then I put Katie to bed. She got up to eat at 12:30 am and 4:30 am.
Mary woke me up at 7 am and Paul headed off to work around then. I rested on the couch then watered the grass and pumped. Katie got up and I fed her then we went for an hour long walk and went to the park. We got home and I fed Katie then put her down for a nap. We had lunch and took a break. Mary played outside while I cleaned and put laundry away. I attempted to put Katie down for a nap while I exercised but it didn't take, I was still able to exercise though. I fed Katie then got both girls bathed. Paul got home and I took a shower then I put Mary to bed and practiced violin before going to bed.
Wednesday I felt well rested because Katie slept 9 hours straight! Mary woke me up and we watered the grass and I pumped. I got us all ready and we went to the park and met up with the Gochenour's and the Durocher's. Mary played with Jack Durocher in the dirt for a long time, it was fun that she got to play with so many friends. Katie loved snacking on a banana while we were there. We took a walk on the way home. I put Katie down for a nap and Mary and I watched some tv together before I got up to clean. Katie got up and we all played together. I practiced violin and exercised then Paul got home early so I could go to the church to practice the violin with the Hardman's. Brother Hardman texted me right as I was getting in the car that he couldn't meet until after activity days. I walked back in the house and we watched Dumbo then I put Katie to bed. I drove to the church and practiced Savior Redeemer of My Soul, I played the violin, Henry played the piano, and David sang. I got home and cuddled with Mary for a few minutes before going to bed. Katie got up once to eat.
Thursday morning Mary woke me up by climbing in my bed and cuddling. We got up and watered the grass and I pumped then we went to the exercise class. April Kimball taught Zumba. We got home and I put Katie down for a nap and made lunch for Mary and me then I pumped. Mary and I had some power struggles throughout the day, we were both very tired, impatient, and obstinate. I put Mary to bed and it was a disaster, I eventually got her to the point we were ready to turn the lights off and I apologized for being so mean and had her promise to not swallow toothpaste and to stop peeing in her pants. I hope she felt like we made peace.  She has done so much better at both of those things since then.
Friday Katie got up to eat and stayed awake, so we cuddled and played. We went outside and watered the grass and I pumped. Mary got up then and we got ready for the day. I cleaned up a little bit then we went to the library for reading time. We read books about butterflies and painted some foam butterflies then played in the kids corner while they dried. After the library we went to Walmart and did the weekly shop. We got home and I put Katie down for a nap and pumped. Mary played outside. I practiced violin and made pizza for Mary and me then I gave Mary a bath. Katie got up and took a bottle. Paul thought he would be home early because he went to Reno for a work lunch and training but it went until 5 pm then he got his oil changed and went to Costco, so he was going to be home at 8 pm. I decided I would go to the tri-ward rs activity at the church since they had childcare, plus I signed up to bring food. I took Mary to the nursery then Katie stayed with me. Tiffany Harmon held Katie while I got food but Katie was tired and hungry and didn't want to be away from me. She cried and cried then another woman at the activity tried to calm her but whatever she tried didn't work. I got back to the table and gave Katie her bottle, which helped her calm down. She is normally very social with other moms, she just needed food and maybe more sleep. We had baked potatoes and salad at the activity then we played General Conference Jeopardy based on this most recent conference. I have only listened to 4 talks this past week, so I wasn't much help to my table. I was grateful I got to sit at this table with other young moms. I sat next to a woman named Hannah who is pregnant with her 4th baby and also Gabby Bullock who is pregnant with her 3rd. About 20 minutes before the end of the activity Mary was brought in and came and cuddled in my lap and Tiffany got her a couple of cookies to help her feel better. The dads providing childcare put on a movie in the nursery that was too scary for Mary. She felt better by the time it was time to go home. We got home a little before Paul did. We helped him put some groceries away then got the girls to bed.
Saturday morning I got up early and pumped then took Mary to dance class. We got home and made breakfast together then I took Mary to the Easter Egg Hunt at In-Town Park. We stayed for about 20 minutes, Mary filled her basket up with eggs, then we played on the playground for a bit and went home where she opened up her eggs and processed her candy. We went for a walk as a family then hung out at the park before going home for lunch. While we were at the park we found a soccer ball and Mary was kicking it around and said, "No, no, no soccer ball!" I put Katie down for a nap and pumped then I went to the Hardman's house to practice the song again. We practiced for about 40 minutes and it sounded really good. I came home, anticipating that we would be going to Walmart to get a grill to make a fun dinner tomorrow but we didn't end up going, so I started cleaning the house. Katie was sitting up on the couch then rolled to her side but she was too close to the edge of the couch and she rolled right off. The fall knocked the wind out of her and it took her a minute to catch her breath, I felt so bad. I gave her a bottle then showered. Paul put Katie to bed and I put Mary to bed then pumped. Katie got up twice, she went back to sleep with the binky the first time then I gave her a bottle the second time. I had a hard time going back to sleep after the second wake up, my mind was going over the violin part of Savior Redeemer and I started to feel stressed about the performance.
Sunday was Easter, I woke up early and pumped then practiced violin. I got ready and Paul was working on getting the outside water turned on. I got Katie and Mary dressed. We all went to the church early but Paul just dropped me off and drove around with the girls until church started. I practiced with the Hardman's then the meeting started. It was nice having Paul and Katie with us. I was so nervous and my muscles were all tight but I think I hit the notes pretty well and I stayed in time with them, so that was a relief. I was still keyed up leaving church and I put my phone on top of the car when I put Mary in her car seat and I told myself not to forget it up there but I did. We were driving to Walmart to get the grill we were going to get yesterday and Paul heard it fall off the car at the roundabout but didn't know what it was at the time. We got to Walmart and I couldn't find my phone, I checked the location on Paul's phone and sure enough, it was at the roundabout. We circled back and it had been totally destroyed and my AmEx card was missing. Luckily I was able to recover my license and SoFi card. We drove home and changed, then drove to Reno. We got dinner at Red Robin then went to Spectrum and both got new phones. We got grill stuff at the Walmart in Sparks to use next week. We drove home and I got us dessert and Paul's prescription from our local Walmart then we went home. I gave Mary her Easter basket and put eggs out on the grass for her to gather up. We sat outside and had our dessert. I set up my phone while I pumped then we went for a walk then put the girls to bed. It was a crazy day but I'm only sad that I lost all the pictures I took of Mary and Katie this week.
