May 5-11, 2025
Monday morning Katie woke up and we saw Paul off to work together. She ate 3/4 of a banana for breakfast then Mary woke up and joined us at 8:30! She must have been tired. I got Mary breakfast then put Katie down for a nap and did some meal prep. Katie woke up after a short nap and hung out with me while I finished cooking. I started to clean up then got Katie a bottle. I finished doing the Monday clean and started the laundry. I made lunch for us then put Katie down for her second nap. I exercised then Katie was up and I fed her some baby food. I did the dishes then we went outside to play. We went for a walk then played at the park. Paul beat us home and had his dinner that was in the crockpot (taco soup). We got home and I practiced letters with Mary then taught Lizzy Seamons violin. I got Katie into her jammies and washed my face then I put Mary to bed while Paul put Katie to bed. Paul went on his nightly walk then we went to bed.
Tuesday morning Katie joined us in our bed and went back to sleep. Mary got into our bed a little later and went back to sleep as well. It was so sweet to have us all in the bed cuddling. Paul went to work and Mary and I got up and got breakfast. I cleaned up a little then Katie got up. I finished cleaning then fed Katie. I got dinner going in the crockpot then put Katie down for a nap. She only slept for a little while then she was up again and we went outside to weed and mulch. The Gochenour's came over at 1 pm and I babysat the kids while ShaLay went to Reno for a prenatal appointment. I don't know what she fed her kids but Lydia and EverLee both pooped twice and had diarrhea and KinsLey had a big poop in her diaper but luckily she only pooped once. I watched them for three hours, the last hour I just sent them outside to play and I got my house back in order and put Katie down for a nap before ShaLay came back to pick them up. After they left I bathed Mary, who got plenty dirty playing outside for the last hour, then we had a relaxed afternoon until Paul came home. I taught Peter violin that night then brushed Mary's teeth and put Katie to bed. Katie was pretty restless and just slept in our bed most of the night then took a bottle at 5 am.
Wednesday morning I got up and showered right away. Paul went to work and Mary woke up while I was getting ready. Katie got up and we went out to water the grass. We packed up and went for an hour walk then went to the park for a playdate. I texted ShaLay, Lindsay, and Jessica then ShaLay texted the group and Karri, April, and Bailey also came. It was so fun to have such a big group. After the park I took Mary and Katie to an ice cream truck and we had a little mommy-daughter date. We got home and I put Katie down for a nap and exercised. Katie got up and we played all together. I cleaned up a little, took out the trash, then fed Katie outside while Mary played. Paul got home and we went on a family walk. Paul watered the grass and put Katie to bed. I put Mary to bed then Paul went on his nightly walk and we went to bed.
Thursday I got up and watered the grass then we went to the church for the weekly exercise class. Lindsay taught REFIT. We got home and I put Katie down for a nap and Mary and I watched a movie together. Katie woke up and we continued to spend time together on the couch then we went outside. Mary watched her show while I cuddled Katie to help her fall asleep. While Katie slept I cleaned up and cooked dinner (ramen). Paul got home and really liked dinner. I taught Peter violin then I brushed Mary's teeth and Paul put her to bed while I put Katie to bed. Katie got up at 2:30 but went back to sleep with a binky at 2:30.
Friday I got up at 5:30 to feed Katie then put in a grocery order. Penelope Galloway had texted me after exercise class yesterday and asked if I wanted to come to her house for a Mother's Day brunch on Saturday. I said yes and I'm going to make a cinnamon roll coffee cake to bring, so I needed some groceries today to make that for tomorrow. I took the girls to the library for reading time, Mary made a colorful paper snail. We picked up the groceries then I put Katie down for a nap. I cooked a freezer pizza for Mary then we played outside in her little shark pool. Paul came home early feeling sick. Katie woke up from her nap and I put her in her swimsuit and she came out with Mary and me to play. I bathed the girls when we were done then Paul fed Katie and put her down for a nap. I don't think she fell asleep because she had just napped but they hung out together in the room. Mary and I watched the Lego movie together then I made some freezer pupusas for dinner, they were not very good. Mary and I played Legos while we watched the movie. Katie started getting upset because she was constipated and tried to poop but it was painful for her. She got a couple poops out and was doing okay. I made the cake then helped Paul get Katie situated for bed. I cleaned up the kitchen then Paul went on his walk and I put Mary to bed then showered before we went to bed. Katie had a bottle at 1 am.
Saturday Mary got in our bed at 4 am then Paul got up at 5 and got going on his ec's. Katie got in the bed at 6:20. It was nice to cuddle with my girls. Mary and I got ready and went to dance. While we were gone Katie had a rough time pooping, both her and Paul were distressed. Over the weekend she pooped a lot and luckily Saturday morning was the last of the painful poops. Mary and I got home and we made breakfast together as a family. I had a smaller breakfast because I had brunch at 11 am. I put Katie down for a nap and got ready then went to Penelope's house. ShaLay Gochenour, Arielle Tomlinson, Taylor Jacobsen, Alaina Naressi, Penelope, and I made up the brunch group. Penelope made lemon sugar cookies, cucumber sandwiches, and blackberry lemonade. ShaLay brought berries, Arielle brought muffins, I brought the coffee cake, and Taylor brought blueberry goat cheese. We played a Pride and Prejudice inspired card game where you are one of the female characters and you basically work to make yourself eligible for marriage. It was fun! I was wanting to have a girls night but I can't host at my house so I was grateful for Penelope's invitation. I got home and we went to Walmart for some stuff for Paul this next week. We went to Wendy's for dinner and Mary fell asleep on the way home. We watched movies in the afternoon and I put Katie down for a nap. I cleaned the kitchen then Katie woke up and we went to the park to fly the butterfly kite we got on Friday. It was really fun but tricky. The air pressure would change and send the kite straight to the ground. We have to practice some more. We got home and I watered the grass then brushed Mary's teeth and put Katie to bed. Paul and I argued so he was out on the couch and Mary came out to cuddle with him. That softened him enough that after he put her to bed he came back to our room to go to sleep.
Sunday was Mother's Day. I got up at 4 am to feed Katie then I couldn't go back to sleep because I was ornery with Paul. I eventually got up and went for a 30 minute walk at 5:30 am. On my way home I walked by a house that put a bunch of stuff out that was labeled "Free". I brought home a toy table and a toy to help Katie walk when she gets to that point. Paul walking out to find me cleaning the toys made him laugh and he helped me before going on his walk. While he was gone I watered the grass then Mary woke up. I made her breakfast then bathed her. Paul got home then and Katie got up soon after. I got Katie dressed then she joined Mary in playing with the new toys. Paul showered and I put bluey on for the girls while I got ready. Mary and I went to church and they gave out succulents to the women for Mother's Day. We got home and had lunch. Paul and I argued again and he took Mary to the park to play with the kite again. I was sad and started rage cleaning and did some mopping, which was long overdue. I was sad that I was cleaning on Mother's Day but it was also kind of nice to not have so much cleaning to do on Monday and feel like I'm neglecting my kids so much. Katie was chill while I was cleaning and Mary was playing with Paul at the park, so it was a good situation in that way. Mary let go of the kite and it ended up flying into the farm next to the park. Not sure if we'll buy another one to replace it or not. Paul kept Mary at the park for a little while longer and called to make up with me. I told him to come home when they were ready and I was just cleaning. He came home and had to deal with something that went wrong at work then he facetimed his mom. He called Los Gallos in Fallon and we went there for Mother's Day dinner. Mary fell asleep in the car shortly after we left the house. I hoped Katie would also fall asleep but she didn't. We got blizzards from Dairy Queen after dinner then drove home while listening to Mr. Ballen's true crime podcast. We got home and watched Dumbo and Bluey. Paul put Katie to bed and I watered the grass then put Mary to bed. I practiced the violin and Mary came in for the last 3 minutes then I put her back to bed. She wasn't very tired since she napped, I guess, because she got into our bed at 10:30 and cuddled for a minute before I put her back to bed again. Mary says pillow "plello".

Paul's new favorite photo of Mary. She's flying her butterfly kite at Ponderosa Park. He said it defines childhood in a photo.
