June 16-22, 2025
Katie: Katie is a singer! She loves using her voice and makes sounds like "ga-ga, da-da" and just holding out an "ahhhh". She loves to pull herself up onto her knees and is able to kind of shuffle around to move small distances. She officially has her two top teeth poking through! She gets up twice a night to have a bottle and I don't know what we've all been eating but everyone has been pooping so much each day this week! Katie loves the water and had fun in the pool. I don't know what it is about the bath but Katie smiles so big and can't stop kicking her legs in excitement when she's in the bath. She would love to play with Mary in the dirt but it is too tempting for her, she just wants to eat the dirt and it becomes a problem pretty quick.
Mary: Mary was very nervous about swimming in the pool even though she was excited to play in the water. She was brave and her friends helped her play in the water and have fun. She didn't stay on the steps for long and her life jacket/floatie vest helped her feel safe in the water. Mary was great at the library. She participated in the songs, listened to the first story and had a lot of fun coloring while we made color wheels. She knows her colors so well. She also loved playing in the grass after. Mary went to the park with me on Saturday and walked the whole way! Funny things Mary said this week: "You lied to me!" "I’m dizzy for nighttime. It makes me feel like a skeleton." She walks in with a ripped piece of paper, "You have to believe me!"
Mom: I exercised 6 days this week! I also did both girls' bedtimes this week because Dad is still feeling sick. He would stay with Katie and comfort her while I put Mary to bed. I have been getting back into books and listened to 4 audiobooks in the last two weeks. We got a walking treadmill that is coming next week, I'm excited to use it and reach my 10k step goal consistently!
Dad: Dad was still groggy from the cold he got from the kids and is feeling disheartened about work. He wants a change but he isn't sure what he wants that to look like. He's excited to start counting calories and found an app that uses AI to analyze a picture of food and estimate calories, which is really cool and convenient.
This weeks activities: Monday I deep cleaned then grilled burgers for dinner since we didn't make them the previous day for Father's Day.
Tuesday I did yard work, I got the grass cut and the dead bush taken out and pulled some weeds. We had leftovers for dinner.
Wednesday I took the girls to Fallon to go to the outdoor pool. We met up with ShaLay, Jessica, and Penelope and their kids. After the pool I picked dinner up for us at Los Gallos then met Dad at home where he was waiting with treats for us.
Thursday we went to the church for the weekly exercise class. April went out of town at the last minute so Lindsay did REFIT again. I feel bad that she hasn't gotten a break in a while but I personally like REFIT a lot more than the Zumba class April teaches, I feel like I get a legitimate workout when Lindsay teaches.
Friday I took the girls to the library for bilingual story time where we learned about colors in English and Spanish, sang songs, then made a color wheel game. Dad came home early with some McDonald's for dinner. Mary and Katie were both sad that night and needed extra cuddles.
Saturday Mary came with me to Raley's to get treats then we got pizza. Later in the day we played in Mary's room while Katie and Dad had a nap, then we walked to the park. Mary was so cute walking in her ladybug wings. Mom was too aggressive playing a game with Mary that it resulted in Mary biting her lip and cutting it pretty good. We went home and cleaned up the cut but her lip was still swollen, She was so tough. We played in the mud, took a bath, then went to bed.
Sunday Mary and I went to church. I conducted in relief society and Mary had fun playing with her friends in nursery. I had a relief society presidency meeting in the afternoon that lasted for two hours! Ugh. It's the first we've had since Debbie has been out of town but still.
