June 23-29, 2025
Katie: Katie is on the move! She gets on her hands and knees then kind of swings herself back onto her bum then back to her hands and knees. She has also started pulling herself up on furniture when she can. We turned some 70's rock on when we made our fun breakfast on Saturday and she got on her hands and knees and was dancing by shaking her bum, her head, and doing a little baby head bang.
Mary: Mary had fun playing with friends this week. She liked dancing on Saturday. She played with the other girls, they ran up and down the hall laughing and racing each other. She's not sure what the difference is between a towel and a blanket and often uses them interchangeably. I was trying to get her to eat something and she said, "It's yucky! It makes me want to run away!"
Mom: I exercised 5 days this week, and got 10k steps in those 5 days as well. I finished reading Uprooted by Naomi Novik and loved it so much. I've started going through the book again and writing it out as a screenplay. I hope I stay motivated and find a way to submit it to Warner Brothers. They own the movie rights to it but haven't made the movie yet, since acquiring the rights in 2015.
Dad: Dad has been discouraged by work. He has been excited about a new app Lose it! where he tracks his calories and macros. He is having fun writing fiction.
This week's activities: Monday we went to Autumn Winds park with Lindsay, April, and Elizabeth. Mary made a potion with April's daughter, Anna. She also played in the dirt with Jack Durocher. Wednesday we went to the Durocher's house and tried out their new pool with them. Mary was apprehensive but she had a good time. The kids loved giving Katie toys in the water. Thursday we met Peter and Mykael in Reno at Idlewild park. Roman and Mary played together by the end of our meet up then we went on a little walk before they continued on their road trip to Yosemite. Friday Katie had her 9 month appointment, no shots this time! We went to Scheels after where we looked at the fish, played with Legos, and played by the kids slide. We went home and Paul came home early from work. I had fun going through the box that Peter brought out of my old year books. Saturday Mary and I went to Fernley Estates. They have a woman there on hospice that always wanted to go to the ballet but never had, so Fernley Performing Arts asked the girls to perform for her. Mary did a great job! Later that afternoon I went to Penelope Galloway's house for Arielle Tomlinson's baby shower.
