Katie was looking at pictures with me on my phone. I was zooming in on all our faces and asking her to say our names but she kept pushing to picture back to Dad's face and saying, "hi, dada!" She also liked hanging out with me when I was getting dressed and she would try to tickle my belly button. She has a little red mark above her right eyebrow. At first I thought it was jam but when I tried to clean it off it bled and bled. It's gotten a little bigger in the last couple of weeks but is still pretty small. Our friend's daughter also has a similar thing on her armpit and got a topical treatment for it. I'll see if I can do that for Katie.
Mary asked me while we were outside watering, "Are those [flowers] kisses?" (me: do you mean tulips?) Mary: yes. She liked to tell me that she changed her mind about something, for example: she said she won't cry when it is time to turn off the TV and go brush teeth but then when we turned the TV off she did cry. I reminded her that she said she wouldn't and she told me that she changed her mind. It was very warm this week so we played outside a lot and put the girls in their swimsuits to play in the blow-up shark pool. Mary subsequently got sunburned. I did put sunscreen on the girls but focused more on the side of their legs since they usually get burned on their hips. Mary got burned on the back of her legs. I thought it was just dry skin so I put cedaphil on it and it locked in the heat and worsened the burns pretty badly. I tried putting the off brand aloe vera on it but it is mostly water and has menthol or something in it that makes the burned skin sting instead of soothing it. I used to and she always screamed about the burning and it didn't seem to be helping the burns heal. I've just had her wear pants when she goes outside and drink lots of water. I'm going to get her a special cream that should help this week. We had fun using the nail pens this week. We looked at the family newsletter together and she told me, when she saw a picture of Eliza, "Eliza is my favorite aunt. Her hair is so beautiful, why is it so brown?" Mary also started biting her nails. I remind her not to but Dad doesn't think it's a big deal.
Mom: I exercised every day this week. I ran Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Saturday I ran my first 10k in 8 years at a pace of 11:45. I've also done a lot of color analysis practice on both myself and Dad.
Dad had an awesome week of exercising and tracking his calories. He was so fun and happy to be around over the weekend!

Monday we had Josie and Jack over to play. I taught violin that night. I moved most of my students to Monday evening and teach two classes now, a beginner class and an intermediate class. Tuesday Mary had her tumbling class. Katie and I played at the park while we waited for her. We went to the library after, to return some books and I requested a new book on color analysis.
Wednesday we walked to the park with Virginia and her two kids, Maisie and Andrew. We met up with Lindsay, ShaLay, Arielle, and Megan from the homeschool group. Thursday we went to the church for exercise class. It was April Kimball's birthday so we celebrated her after the class. I had a staff meeting for violin that evening.
Friday I picked up my retainer from the dentist and it was the right one this time-thank goodness. ShaLay watched Mary and Katie for me so when I went back to her house we hung out for a few hours. She showed me her display for the Easter open house on Sunday and we talked about their mini home/airbnb project. Lydia came home from school while we were there, Mary was so excited to see her. She tells me all the time that her best friends are Lydia and Jesus. She has missed Lydia a lot since she started Kindergarten. Dad came home early and we went to Wendy's for dinner and played at the new park by the pool.
Saturday I ran 6.25 miles in the morning. That's the longest run I've done in probably 8 years. I went to a book club meeting that morning and we talked about Midnight Library. I went to teach violin in the afternoon but my only student that stayed in the Saturday class cancelled as I was walking to the door. We went to the park when Dad was done studying for the LSAT in the afternoon. He feels good about that path right now.
Sunday I spent the morning writing my talk for that day. I pondered it for a month but didn't put the work in ahead of time like I should have. Dad played with the girls, fed them breakfast, and got them in the bath for me so I could write. We all got ready and went to church. They opened like normal then had the speakers go. It was Christa Seamons, me, and the Bishop. Then they administered the sacrament and ended the meeting. After church the girls got their Easter baskets and did a little Easter-egg hunt in the backyard. Katie napped while Mary and Dad dyed eggs. We Facetimed with Grandma Wendy then Nana and Grandpa. We went to the park in the evening. We celebrated Easter this week because Dad and I are going to do the keto diet for the whole month of April and didn't want all the candy to be disruptive.
