April 13-19, 2026
Katie loves to help me sweep. Whenever I get the broom out, she wants the other one and helps me sweep the floor. She is very good at copying words and can speak better. She saw a picture of a cat and said, "cat!" She can also say all our names.
Mary loves to get 20 kisses at bedtime. She says, "20 kisses, don't count!" I'll say, "That was 20." She says, "No, that was 19. 5 hugs!" She also said to me this week, "Mom, don't look, I'm sneaking!"
Mom: another week of keto down. I exercised each day this week including going on three runs, one of which was my weekly 10k. I learned more about color analysis this week too.
Dad had a stressful week at work. There were massive layoffs. Gratefully Dad and his team stayed intact, only one technician was laid off. Another team that Dad works closely with, CAM1, got hit hard. They lost 5 of the 6 engineers, which was a big cause of stress and anger to Dad. They were all friends and Dad felt his boss made selfish decisions by firing the engineers they needed and kept his friends who appear to do no real work for R&D or the company in general.
Monday we babysat Jack and Josie and I taught violin that night. We had a 5.7 magnitude earthquake at 6:30 pm and felt aftershocks periodically until 9:30 pm. Tuesday, Mary had tumbling class and Katie and I played at the park. We went to the library after. That night I had a meeting with the young women's parents for girls camp where we went over everything with them. Wednesday we went to the park with four other families. Virginia, Lindsay, Arielle, and Penelope all came. Thursday we went to the church for the exercise class.
Friday we went to pick up duck eggs and keto baked goods in Silver Springs then went to Fallon where we got dinner at Sonic and Dad got his work boots. Saturday I ran a 10k and taught violin in the afternoon. Sunday we felt more aftershocks from the earthquake on Monday, the biggest shock that morning was 4.5 magnitude. We ended up staying home from church and got Mexican food and some treats.
