Katie: I gave Katie oatmeal and she said, “I don’t want that”.
Mary: When it was time to leave Grandma's house, Mary was having a hard time waking up. She said, "I want Marlow to wake me up."
Monday Lindsay let me know that we won't have to babysit her kids for a while because she's gotten to the point in her pregnancy that she can't teach her fitness class. I spent the day doing a deep clean of the house that I usually do on Mondays. That involved laundry, changing bed sheets, washing dishes, meal prep, taking out the garbage, picking up toys and clothes, cleaning out the fridge, cleaning the girls room, watering the plants, cleaning out the car, putting laundry and dishes away, bathe the girls, and making cookies and banana bread. I was still feeling tired and short of breath but everything was so dirty, I couldn't leave it. Paul got home and I took a nap before going to teach violin.
Tuesday I just did a quick clean and mowed the lawn before taking the girls to the library and getting my book that I requested on personal color. I took the girls to dance and taught violin. When we got home, Katie took a short nap before I took them to Arielle's house while I went to Bailey's house and had her take my headshot photo for my website I've been working on. We got home and got a great package of books and play doh from Grandma Wendy. The girls played with that while I worked on Kylee's color analysis.
Wednesday we met up with our friends at the park. Lindsay, Arielle, and ShaLay all came. There were some stray dogs there, which was unsettling. They tried to bite me but didn't. They wandered away after a while.
Thursday I went to the exercise class but Dad was figuring out how to see Granny K before she passed away. He was going to fly but last minute tickets were too expensive so we decided to all go. We left class early and went to Lowe's and Walmart to quickly get my todo list done before going home, packing, and hitting the road. We got there late and went straight to bed.
Friday we got breakfast and got ready for the day. Wendy got home from work early and we all went to say goodbye to Elaine. She was a little confused but when she saw Paul in her room, she got a big smile across her face and said, "Oh, Paul!" They have a special bond. She kept asking where our son was and saying we had three kids, two girls and a boy. Paul has been thoughtful about having a third child and that seemed to confirm his feelings to have his grandmother, who was like a second mother to him and who is so close to passing through the veil, say that.
We celebrated Adam's birthday that night and had a family dinner and games. The girls loved playing with Marlow, Wendy's black lab, and the two cats if they could catch them. Uncle Joe and Aunt Brooke gave Mary a beautiful bracelet they got while they were in Belgium. It has a gold heart charm with an M on it.
Saturday we went to the zoo altogether. Mary got her face painted for the first time and she loved it. She got a turtle (she called it Squirtle) and she wanted to make sure we could see it in all the pictures we took of her. Grandma Wendy got them stuffies at the zoo. Mary picked out a snow leopard and Katie picked a gorilla. That night we visited Mike's grave.
Sunday we left first thing in the morning and came back to Fernley. We got home before 4 pm. We were all very tired and pretty much went right to bed.
