Katie said "a-bop" a lot while we were in Crescent City and she said it when we got home too. I didn't know what she was saying until we played "go to sleep then the alarm goes off." She said it then and I realized she was saying "wake up". That made the Crescent City trip more funny because she was saying it at the aquarium to the fish she thought were sleeping. She would also say "aw, cute!" and "let go!". She sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while we were looking at the visitors center at Fort Churchill on Sunday. She counts with me when Mary is doing her mouthwash and she will sing the ABC song too. She is getting to be a great talker!
Mary continues to love dressing up and reminded me of her Aunt Amelia this week when she mismatched her socks for each outfit. Amelia loved to do that when she was a young girl too. She loved pretending to be different creatures/animals this week. I got a hilarious video of her pretending to be a worm. She also loved the dinosaur theme going on at the library for the month of July.
Mom: I did a lot of deep cleaning this week in the kitchen and laundry room and I finally mopped in what feels like forever. I started exercising again this weekend. I did the stationary bike on Friday and lifted weights on Saturday. It felt good!
Dad said goodbye to Brad from work on Friday. They had a going away party for him in Reno. Work is as frustrating as usual. He built the hack squat machine that he bought for Mom. Our home gym is looking awesome!

This week was less eventful because all our friends were out of town. I did a lot of deep cleaning and the girls were very patient and played well together. We played in the sprinkler almost every afternoon and made friendship bracelets. We had a fun weekend of going to the library on Friday and going to Fort Churchill. It was fun to do a little family hike, even if the girls didn't have as much fun. We need to go hiking more often so they get used to it. We finally felt the effects of all the fires in Utah. It was very smokey on Sunday and smelled like fire.

Katie turned one on Saturday! She has twelve teeth right now, all eight of her incisors and four molars. She can stand for a few seconds before falling and she can move her feet pretty quickly when she's holding on to something. Mary would finish her applesauce pouch then fill it with air and pretend it was a musical instrument. She called it a choppecher/ troppecher. She is getting better at reading. She asks me throughout the day about letters in the words she sees and says. I didn't garden as much this week because we had a ton of mosquitos. We all got eaten alive at the beginning of the week and avoided being outside the rest of the week. Dad is feeling better about work this week. Things still happen that make him mad but he is seeing more of the good and choosing to be grateful. He works so hard and I'm very proud of everything he's accomplished. Monday was Labor Day so Paul got to stay home from work. We went for a walk to Green Valley Park and went to Lowe's in the afternoon to get soil and mulch. Tuesday I went to the dentist for a cleaning and finally got my new retainer. Jessica watched Mary and Katie for me then we saw them again at noon when Mary and Addie had dance class together. Paul came home early to find his wallet, it was in the car between the seat and the middle console. He's been stressed about work so he decided to take off next week. Wednesday I seeded the grass then we went to Ponderosa park with friends. Thursday we went to the church for the exercise class and Lindsay taught rev+flow. Friday Paul took the Honda to the dealership because it was giving us a notification about the airbags. He spent all day there and they were no help at all. Katie liked making certain sounds week to week. Last week it was ts, ts, ts. This week was ma, ma, ma. She also did it while pressing her hand to her mouth then pushing her hand away with the "a" sound. Mary playing: “Don’t do this daddy, don’t do this. Rawr rawr rawr” “I have to do this. Rawr rawr rawr. It’s my house. Rawr” Monday I deep cleaned the house and taught violin in the evening to a 6 year old named Amelia. Tuesday I set up the office for Andy to sleep there and the guest room for Wendy. Mary had dance class in the afternoon. Wendy got to us around 7 pm and had dinner with us. I put Katie to bed then Wendy got a little game out and we played that in Grandma's room and we all talked together. Wendy helped me put Mary to bed. Andy didn't end up coming.
