Paul had his day off on Monday so we went to the park for a little bit and went to Fallon to get Mary some Easter dresses since she grew out of her short sleeved dresses. I taught violin that night and it was a good lesson. Mary likes to pretend to call me on the phone. She'll say, "Ring ring! Hello! What's up? Bye bye, boop." She fell asleep that night holding my hand, she's such a sweet little girl.
Tuesday we went to the church for volleyball. ShaLay taught me some techniques to help me get better. We're planning on playing tennis in the summertime. It was pretty warm when we got home so Mary played outside for a little while, she still loves the trampoline. She got the idea that the trampoline ladder could be used in other places, so she carried it around the house trying to set it up to reach items purposefully put out of her reach. That night I went to a get-together at Debbie's house (the to-be new RS president) with the other two sisters that will be in the presidency and we just talked and got to know each other a little bit. It was fun for me to have that social time and Paul did a great job putting Mary to bed.
Mary did miss me though and she was up an hour and a half earlier than normal the next day and she just wanted to cuddle. She is a Momma's girl. It was warm on Wednesday so we went to the park in the afternoon and met up with all our friends. We stayed for 2.5 hours and finally left when the weather suddenly changed and got cold. That night Mary loved playing hide and seek where we would cover our eyes and she would count to 10 and say, "ready or not, here I come!" then run over to us and say, "I found you!"
Thursday we had a storm warning that there would be high winds in our area so that morning Paul and I secured everything in our yard so it wouldn't get blown around in the storm. Mary and I went to the weekly play group and when we left the wind was starting to really pick up. It was very windy and Paul came home from work early. Many people's fences and roofs were damaged, road signs were broken, at least two trees fell down in one of the parks, and there was a small electrical fire. Luckily we didn't have any problems and didn't lose power. I saw electricians out there all day working to prevent outages.
Friday we just stayed in for another windy day. Mary would go around clearing her throat and say, "um, excuse me" and then she would sniff like she smelled something back and say, "what's that smell?" and she tapped her chin and said, "Hmm, what could it be?"
Congratulations to Emily on receiving her endowment and to Matt and Hannah for blessing baby Miles this weekend. Sunday I got sustained and set apart in my new calling. We had our first RS meeting as the new presidency. Mary is so good at going to sleep on her own now. She loves to tell us, "goodnight! Sweet dreams!". This weekend has been pretty snowy after the high winds so we haven't been outside too much. As a result, Mary stands by one of our windows and sings, "Sun, sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me". I hope it is better weather this week so she can get enough time to play outside.
