Monday morning, we checked out of our apartment and started the long drive to Sparks, Nevada. The first night we stopped in Roswell, New Mexico. The next morning, we checked out the UFO Museum before hitting the road again. We stopped in Albuquerque for lunch and then we stayed the night in Flagstaff, AZ. Fun fact: Flagstaff is the highest elevated city in the US outside of Colorado. We started off nice and early the next morning and got to Las Vegas for lunch. We drove through Nevada and stayed the night in Tonopah, NV. Nevada is pretty empty in the middle.
Thursday, we got to Sparks, NV in the early afternoon. Paul's brother, Joe, met us over there and helped us move in before he headed home with Andy and Wendy. Friday, we got our internet set up and got new phones since ours were in bad shape. Paul was able to transfer everything easily but the guy that helped me was not able to get the transfer done and I lost all my texts, pictures, and contacts. Luckily, I recovered a lot of my photos on google photos. Mary and I were tired from the road trip and adjusting to the cold, dry weather so we slept most of the day and Paul made us soup and took care of us.
Saturday, we did some adventuring by driving down to Carson City and driving to see where Paul will be working. We're mostly settled in and are excited about this new chapter. Mary was so great during the whole drive. She now says uh-uh and shakes her head to tell me no, and she is getting better at giving us kisses.
