It was Mary's first birthday on Tuesday! We went to the doctor's first thing in the morning, and she got her shots and her blood tested. She was a tough girl. Paul stayed home from work for her birthday, and we went to the park, she got to play on the swings and go down the slide. She got a chocolate cupcake with cookies and cream frosting and I'm not sure how much she ate but she licked up all the icing and played with the cake. We started Mary on whole milk this week and her body is getting used to digesting it, so Wednesday and Thursday nights were pretty rough. She seems to be adjusting to it since then and has slept through the night well after that and will drink a lot of milk, especially in the evening.
Mary has also started blowing us kisses and giving us high-fives. She loves her little baby dolls, and she will hug them, kiss them, and carry them everywhere with her. I made a run to Goodwill on Thursday. That cleared up a lot of space in our apartment and made it feel less chaotic. Paul took apart some furniture on Saturday to get us ready to move in a week. It was our last Sunday in our ward, and I played the piano for the sacrament meeting hymns. We're enjoying the last of our Texas winter and I'm sure we will long for it once we have moved back to the cold, but we won't miss the humid summers.
