Last week I was switching the strings on my violin and while I was tuning the E string my bridge snapped in half. I will be playing the violin in a fireside in a couple of weeks, so I was pretty stressed when this happened. We ordered a new bridge right away and I was able to borrow a violin until the bridge arrived and I was able to fix my violin. I also made banana bread on Monday that overflowed in the oven. After I put Mary down for a nap I cleaned the oven and finished making the banana bread and it turned out delicious.
Tuesday, we had Mary's friend, Josie, over to play. Mary loved having her friend over. They pretended to be ghosts and then pretended to take a nap (one of Mary's favorite games right now). That night I went to the church to practice singing for a musical number next week. Wednesday, I went caroling to an elderly home with the Relief Society. I was able to get the bridge on my violin on Thursday. We missed the weekly play group because Mary has been going through a sleep regression, we just needed some extra sleep that day.
Friday, we had a playdate with the Gochenours. They had been with their family for Thanksgiving. Mary missed playing with them while they were out of town. Both Lydia and EverLee wanted to give Mary lots of hugs. They played dress-up and had a great time together. Saturday, I returned the borrowed violin and practiced the song for the fireside.
Sunday, I practiced for the musical number after church. Paul had his coordination meeting and Mary fell asleep. She was sleeping in one of the pews and Josie was protecting her from getting woken up while we practiced singing. Paul came in and was cuddling with Mary and Josie gave him dirty looks the rest of the practice because he woke up Mary and Josie didn't recognize him as Mary's dad. It was hilarious and Paul loved that she was being a good friend to Mary. We enjoyed watching the First Presidency Christmas Devotional that evening.
