Monday Grandpa picked Paul up at 5:15 am and drove him to the airport so he could catch his flight to Japan. I had a hard time going back to sleep and was joined by sweet Mary around 7 am. She got in bed with me and quickly fell back to sleep. Katie got up shortly after and I loved cuddling with them while missing Paul. I tried to get the house cleaned up a bit before Nana and Grandpa came over. Grandpa and I went to in-town park to play tennis while Nana and Grandma watched the girls. Grandpa won the tie breaker after we played 12 games, tied 6-6. It was fun to play after not playing in almost 3 years. We came home and all went to Reno together. We went to lunch at Haveli Indian food then Nana got cookies from Twisted Sugar. We went to Scheels where Mary liked looking at the fishes and playing on the playground. Paul texted me from the plane, panicked that we had been hurt in an earthquake. We did not feel the earthquake since we were in Reno. People in Fernley felt it but I saw no evidence of it when we got home.

Nana and Grandpa drove back to Salt Lake City Tuesday morning. It was a relaxed morning and I was able to exercise while Katie napped and Mary played with Grandma. Grandma took a nap and we got the house cleaned up. When Grandma woke up she took Mary with her to Walmart for a little grandmas date. They came home and we watched movies before going to bed. Paul had a day of internal meetings and they took him to an observation deck in Osaka.

Wednesday morning I was feeding Katie and Mary joined me. Wendy watched the girls while I exercised and showered. Wendy took a break then we took a walk to the park. We got cold after about 30 minutes then came home. Wendy taught institute via zoom in the evening.

I woke up at 5:30 to feed Katie and couldn’t go back to sleep after that. I stayed in bed listening to my book until 8 when I fed Katie again and Mary joined us. Grandma started her drive home Thursday morning. We got ready and left a little after her to go to the exercise class, I didn’t have time to have breakfast before we left. It was just us, April, and Lindsay with little Jack. Mary played better with Jack today, which I was grateful for. Jack loved giving Katie hugs and was very sad when his mom took him away from her. I feel like April was treating me weirdly, I don’t know why. After class I took the girls to the nursery so I could feed Katie and Mary could play while we waited for Debbie Young. We planned center pieces for the ward party on Saturday. We picked up groceries on the way home. It was a lazy afternoon because I was tired and got too hungry. We got a package from Matt and Hannah (advent calendar of bath bombs) that morning and we used one for Mary’s bath today. I slowly cleaned as Katie napped throughout the afternoon. I got it mostly clean by bedtime and got both girls to bed. We’re almost ready for Clare Schramm will join us tomorrow. I felt sad today that Paul didn’t call while he was getting ready. He’s busy but he left his hotel at 2 pm my time and we would have loved to see him. We’ve only barely texted since he’s been gone.

Friday I got up at 3:45 to feed Katie and naturally could not go back to sleep. I texted Paul for a bit then got up and exercised. I finished getting the house ready for when Clare would arrive. She got to us at 2 pm. We talked then picked up some pizza for dinner. We watched frozen 1 and 2 and Clare and I talked about books and shows we like then we all went to bed. Paul FaceTimed before he went sight seeing with his coworkers. They went to a temple and a shogun castle then to the imperial palace.

Saturday we made a waffle breakfast, had a relaxing morning of talking together and watching cartoons. We watched Hamilton for Clare since she hadn’t seen it yet. I made roasted potatoes and chocolate mint cookies for the ward party. Both were gone quickly. Paul got to try Kobe beef and went to Osaka castle.

Sunday morning Mary and I went to church while Clare stayed home with Katie. Mary got Christmas gifts in nursery, they gave her candy, some ornaments, and a Christmas cup with a straw. We had pizza for lunch and watched aristocrats and Winnie the Pooh. We played with play doh and I finished making a chicken and rice soup for dinner. We watched tangled then went to bed. Mary was over tired even though she slept in until 8 am and went to bed at the normal time. Katie took a nice long nap in the afternoon.
