Monday I cleaned, as usual, and taught violin. I have officially been teaching violin for 1 year!
Wednesday we babysat Josie and Jack Durocher while Lindsay taught REFIT at Fitness for 10. Mary loved playing with friends. Mary played with Katie while Katie was in her swing. When I tried to join them Mary would shoo me away so they could play together in private. I texted Aunt Barbara to check in. She said the fires are far away from them and that they are safe - what a blessing! Our prayers have been thoughtful of those whose lives have been impacted by the LA wildfires.
Thursday we went to the weekly exercise class where Lindsay Durocher taught REFIT. I bathed both girls and took some pictures of Mary to put in her memory journal.
Friday was Mary's 3rd birthday! We made waffles and gave her one present in the morning, a toy rocket launcher (it was bought with the money gift we got from Great-Grandma Terry). We met the Gochenour's at Ponderosa Park and played on the swings, shared snacks, and played with the rocket launcher. Paul came home early with balloons! We sang happy birthday to Mary and she got pizza and chocolate cake. She finished opening her presents - magnets, a "lady-bug" ball, and clothes from Nana, a Miss Rachel surprise box from Mom and Dad (it came instead of the balloons Mom ordered but it worked out because Mary loves it), and a pink bicycle and matching helmet (also from Mom and Dad).
Saturday was Mary's first day of dance class! She's taking a ballet/tap class from Fernley Performing Arts. She was hungry and tired but she had fun! We got her breakfast but she was tired until she got to go to bed. That afternoon we went to Green Valley Park and Mary tried out her bike. It is too big for her and it was pretty cold but she still loved it and had fun playing with it.
Sunday we did yoga, got ready for church and we were only a little late. We went on a family walk and did some meal prep. I exercised and listened to my scriptures every day this week!
Funny things Mary said this week: [while playing doctor] "Deep breath. You're going to be okay." "I don't understand. I don't know what you're talking about." "Dad! You’re not going anywhere!"
