Monday morning Paul was panicked because his car wouldn't start. Luckily we had picked up our groceries the day before so I had no plans to drive anywhere that day. Paul took the Honda to work and the crisis was averted. Mary, Katie and I had a relaxed morning and played with Mary's magnet toys. I put Katie down for her morning nap and exercised. Mary helped me rotate the laundry and I finished putting together my salads for the week that I had partially prepared the day before. I got Katie down for her afternoon nap and cleaned up the kitchen and wrote my weekly journal entry before Katie was up again. I got dinner for me and Mary (cowboy casserole) then I showered so I wouldn't stink while teaching violin that evening. Paul came home and tried to start his car again but the cold had drained his car battery. I taught violin that night and Lizzy played Lightly Row really well. I told her to practice with the metronome and we can try to pass it off this next week. After that I put Katie to bed and we all went to bed after that.
Tuesday, after breakfast, I put together a baby shower gift for Bailey Earl since her shower will be on a Saturday during the day and Paul will start working Saturdays this next week for the rest of the quarter, so I will have to miss it. Since I still had stuff from the shower I had for Katie and Paul accidentally buying boy outfits for Mary, I was able to get a gift together without spending additional money. Mary helped me fold laundry and then she was ready to take a bath. She loves the bath bombs she got from her cousin Addie for Christmas and she tells me which color of "pixie dust" she wants for her bath. Katie slept in and she snuggled with me in the baby carrier while I cleaned up around the house. She was quickly ready for her morning nap and I put on a movie for Mary while I got Katie down and exercised. Katie spit up during her nap, so I gave her a bath to get her all cleaned up. I took a full shower after that because Paul said we could all go to the store together to get a new car battery for the Yaris. He changed his mind and I was okay with it. It was getting dark and he needed to be fast and get the new battery installed. Katie was asleep when Paul got home, but Mary and I joined him outside while he switched out the batteries in his car. I held the flashlight and Mary threw rocks in the yard. Paul watched a youtube video of how to do it and he did a great job! The car has been running great since then.
Wednesday BBC came to Paul's work and filmed some procedures and labs at Redwood to make a news story about the company, Paul was not featured but it is exciting! It was a long day for me because Katie did not nap as much or as long as she usually does and I was tired from not getting much sleep the night before.
Thursday we were late to the exercise class but were still able to participate and have fun with friends. I think there were 9 women there and lots of kids for Mary to play with. We were the last ones to leave, I think we were not in a hurry to go home after being home so much this week. We came home and played in the backyard before we headed over to Lindsay Durocher's house. I dropped the girls off for Lindsay to watch them while I went to the dentist. I broke my retainer last Saturday by accidentally dropping it and the wires came apart. I got fitted for a new top retainer and they removed my permanent retainer on my lower jaw. I am happy about how easy it is to floss my lower teeth now. I did find out I have a cavity and I will get that filled in March. I went back and picked up the girls. I got home just in time to have dinner before my eating window closed. I bathed Mary since she peed her pants at the Durocher's then made her and Paul dinner. Mary has had a hard time staying in her bed at night, so I cuddled with her hoping that she would feel comforted and stay in her bed.
Friday I made french toast for me and Mary since we wouldn't have time on Saturday and I anticipated Paul would be fasting. I got Katie down for a nap and made the mistake of cleaning instead of exercising right away. After I came in from exercising I found Katie crying. I hope she wasn't crying for very long. I don't think she was because she was quickly comforted. After I fed her I showered then we picked up groceries, then swung by the dentist to pick up my retainer before coming home. I put Katie down for her nap then put the groceries away and got lunch for Mary and me. That afternoon we met up with ShaLay and Megan at Ponderosa Park. We haven't seen Megan and Kynlee since Kynlee's birthday party the week before Katie was born. We haven't seen a lot of ShaLay since then either, to be honest. It was good to talk to them and Mary loved playing at the park. She peed her pants though, so I got her in the bath as soon as we got home. I got some nachos made for Paul just in time for him to have dinner right after coming home. I got Katie to bed then got some snacks packed and clothes in the car to make Saturday morning go a little smoother.
Saturday I got up early and exercised and showered. Mary got up early too and got to eat a little yogurt and watch Pooh Bear before we went to dance. I got some moving boxes to one of the moms there, she's helping her mother-in-law move to Utah next week. After dance class we changed then all got in the car and headed to Reno. Mary ate most of her snacks and I had my breakfast shake then nursed Katie in the car. I nursed Katie as long as I could before heading into the temple to make the 10:30 am session where Winnie Blesh was receiving her endowment. Paul stayed with the girls and he said Katie slept the whole time almost. It was nice to be in the temple, I don't think I have been in two years. I came out to find Mary coloring, Katie sleeping, and Paul listening to a book. They had tried going for a walk but it was too cold. After that we grabbed some lunch at Five Guys then did a Costco run. It was a full day, we relaxed and watched movies in the afternoon and everyone was tired when it was time to go to bed.
Sunday we started with some yoga then I drank my shake while feeding Katie. I got Katie dressed for church then Mary bathed and dressed while Paul showered. Mary wanted to wear her black dress with her bow shirt so I wore my matching bow shirt when I got ready. We got to church a little late and stayed in the foyer. Our bishopric got released and a new one was put in. I think the old bishopric is relieved to be released and the new one will do a good job. Paul left with Katie and I stayed with Mary for the rest of the sacrament meeting then took Mary to nursery and attended Sunday school. Paul talked to Elaine while Katie napped and she told him that she had seen her mother a few times this week. We both think that she will probably pass away soon if this is true. We have both heard stories that people receive visitations from loved ones when their time to pass on is close. I put Katie down for a nap when we got home. Paul took Mary on a walk and I cleaned up a bit and made some dinner for Mary and me and got ready for my meeting. I fed Katie then went to Debbie Young's house for our presidency meeting. I think I was there for a whole hour before Paul texted me that Katie needed me home. I fed her and we hungout before I put Katie to bed. I came out and played basketball with Mary and Paul before we got Mary to bed for the night.
Funny things Mary said this week: (wishing me goodnight) "Farewell" Me: Are you still eating? Mary: I’m still reading (3x) Me: okay I’m putting this in the fridge. Mary: Okay!
