February 10-16, 2025
Monday I woke up pretty tired because Katie was up once to eat and Mary got up 3 times in the early morning. Paul delayed his fasting for the super bowl so he fasted today. We didn't get to do our fun breakfast but I still made a waffle for Mary. Paul and I exercised then we went for a walk to the park. It was really cold and I don't think we dressed warm enough. We listened to Murder with My Husband, my favorite true crime podcast. We came home and watched a movie then had dinner. We went for a drive as a family and both girls fell asleep. I texted Christa and asked if we could cancel the violin lesson but she didn't get the text. Everyone was tired but she came to the house and we went ahead and did the lesson anyway. I put Katie to bed again after the lesson and was up with her 2 times that night to feed her.
Tuesday I woke up feeling really sick, I was shivering and had body aches, my skin was very sensitive to the touch. I woke up early because I had a nightmare. I've been struggling with nursing Katie and I had a nightmare that I met with a lactation consultant "off the market" to try to save money but it was a scam and they stole my identity and took all of our money. I also had a bad dream that the people coming to drop off our new washing machine came to our house and attacked me and tried to kill me and kidnap my kids. It was a lot that morning. The men from Lowe's came and dropped off the machine, no attacking occurred. I finished putting the letter together for Grandma Terry's 80th birthday celebration and got that sent to Paul's cousin, Kayla Baird. I got Katie down for a nap, watched a movie with Mary, and bathed Mary but Katie was up and joined us for the bath part. I put her down for another nap and layed down on the couch for a little nap while Mary watched movies. Katie was up again then we cleaned up and made dinner for Paul. He got home and I got Katie down to bed. Everyone woke up at midnight. I fed Katie and Paul got Mary back to bed. I changed my clothes because I woke up all hot and sweaty, I guess my fever broke?
Wednesday I woke up still feeling those same symptoms of sickness so we layed low. Mary and Iplayed in her room while Katie napped. My right breast was really struggling so I pumped on that side. It has been torn up since the beginning of January. Katie kind of chewed on the bottle which is better than normal, she usually cries. We got Katie's cross stitch from Grandma Terry in the mail, it turned out so nice! Paul got home and hooked up the washer and got some laundry started for me. I pumped again and we watched
moana together before getting Mary then Katie to bed. Katie was up twice in the night to nurse.
Thursday was my birthday. I got up early and pumped, cleaned, rotated laundry, and fed Katie. She drank 4.5 oz. from the bottle, it was awesome! I made hootenannies for my birthday breakfast. It was all snowy but that didn't keep us at home. We went to the church for the weekly exercise class and Valentine's Day party. The snow didn't stop us but it apparently stopped everyone else. April Kimball and Lindsay and Jack Durocher came and the Gochenour's are out of town for a funeral. We didn't end up exercising but we shared snacks and did some crafts before heading home. Mary and I shared my birthday treat of mini chocolate cupcakes. We Facetimed Nana then I fed Katie. We cleaned up around the house and Mary got all muddy by playing outside in the dirt patch. I bathed her and Paul got home with a beautiful rose bouquet while she was in the bath. We all got ready and drove to Fallon for some yummy Mexican food. I got Katie to bed when we got home and then I pumped. She woke back up and drank the bottle I pumped and then we got Mary to bed. Katie was up 2 times to nurse.
Friday was Valentine's Day. I pumped first thing before the girls woke up. We made breakfast and played then I fed Katie. My big SHEIN package came and I was excited to try everything on. I got Katie down for a nap and went through everything before getting lunch for Mary. Mary then got a proper bath before Katie woke up. We cleaned up, I fed Katie, then I exercised. We played hide and seek, then I made dinner for Paul. He came home and we watched Lilo and Stitch because Wendy sent Mary a Stitch valentine and she didn't know who he was. Then I got Katie bug to bed.
Saturday we got up and took Mary to dance. I wrestled Katie the whole time Mary was dancing trying to get her to drink formula from a bottle and she wasn't having it. We got home and I got it warm and she drank it fine. I pumped after I fed the girls breakfast then got Katie down for a nap. I exercised then we watched movies, made lunch, cleaned, pumped then we went to the library for 45 minutes before it closed. We came home and got dinner together for Paul. I put Katie to bed and pumped and Paul got home after that. Katie slept for 9 hours straight that night.
Sunday I was feeling full on my left side so I nursed Katie and that was a big mistake. I pumped and I couldn't get Katie to drink out of the bottle the whole day. I finally got her to drink a bottle at night but she hardly ate or slept all day. I pumped throughout the day and I took Mary to church while Paul watched Katie at home. It was ward conference and I had to stay after for a meeting with the Stake RS presidency. We eventually got home and continued the fight to get Katie to drink the bottle. She slept twice for 30 minutes, which I loved getting to contact nap with her. That night she got up every 3 hours and drank a 5 oz. Bottle each time that was a combination of breast milk and formula.
