Monday Katie turned 4 months old! She is so smiley and is a big mama's girl! She is content as long as I am holding her and she is included in our activities. We love our Katie girl. Monday is our Saturday right now with Paul's rotating schedule this quarter so we started the day with a big breakfast before putting Katie down for a nap. I exercised and showered then we were ready to go out and went to open the garage door but it got frozen to the ground since it had been so cold and snowed this last weekend. Paul fixed it and we were on our way. Katie was fussy but going outside and driving around helped her calm down and feel better. We picked up groceries and walked around Walmart for a minute before going out of tacos and playing at Out-of-Town Park. Katie took a little nap then woke up and took a big poop. I'm glad because her tummy had been upset all morning but she did overflow her diaper, so we headed home and got her cleaned up. We went on a walk to Ponderosa park in the afternoon. Mary loved walking in the snow. She would say "stomp! crunch!" as she walked along. We got home and did our deep cleaning. I taught violin and we put the girls to bed.
Tuesday Mary climbed into bed with me after Paul got up and we had a cuddly morning. I started the laundry and put Katie down for a nap. The washing machine was acting weird and wouldn't fill with water for the third load. I was being a little loud in the kitchen and Mary scolded me, "Shh! Katie is sleeping!" I exercised then Katie woke up and we washed the last load of clothes in the bathtub. We watched a movie then cleaned up around the house. I asked Mary what movie she wanted to watch and she said, "blue fish, yellow fish!" referring to Sword in the Stone. Katie was a happy girl in the baby carrier. Paul got home early to check out the washing machine. It appeared to work fine for him, I'm not sure what was wrong. I put the laundry away then we got the girls to bed.
Wednesday we went to Reno first thing in the morning to take Mary and Katie to their doctor appointments. Katie had a big growth spurt, her head grew 3 cm, she grew 2.5 inches, and gained 2 lbs. 5 oz. She got 4 more vaccines and handled them like a champ! Mary is growing well too and both girls are healthy. What a blessing! I took them to Scheels after that. We looked at the fishes, played on the playground, and played with Legos before driving home and getting Katie down for a nap. I came out of my room after putting Katie down and found Mary butt naked watching Frozen 2. She has found a new freedom in being able to take her own clothes off. I got her back in her clothes then exercised. Katie woke up too soon so I fed her again and got her back to sleep. I cleaned up before Katie woke up again. I played with the girls and got Paul's dinner made before he got home. He had a really stressful day, sadly. I got Katie to bed then helped Paul get Mary to bed.
Thursday Katie slept so well, she slept for 10 hours straight! I fed her and put her back to bed then exercised. I showered then bathed Mary before we went to the exercise class at the church. Lindsay Durocher taught REFIT. I went to Walmart after the class and got a pregnancy test. Mary ran away from me in the store and when we were leaving she started screaming her head off. She has done this before but never when I was alone, it was so stressful and I could not calm her down. I put her in time out when we got home, it was emotional for both of us. I took the test and it was negative. I started taking a new birth control in November and it made me have a period every other week until December and I haven't had a period since December, so I took it just in case. I felt like my milk was drying up and Katie wasn't getting enough but she was just growing the whole month of January. I hope my milk catches up with her soon. We played outside in the afternoon then I got Katie down for a nap. When I came out of my room I couldn't find Mary. I went outside and she was squatting in the dirt patch in the backyard totally naked. I got her dressed then made dinner, loaded quesadillas. Katie woke up so I put her in the baby carrier and cleaned the house. Paul got home and I just talked to him for a minute before it was time to put Katie to bed.
Friday Mary came in to cuddle and we had a relaxed morning. I got Katie to nap then exercised. Mary woke Katie up while I was exercising, which made me crazy. I told her no more TV until Dad gets home. When I was done with my workout we played some games. I got the 6 month clothes out for Katie since she has grown out of her 3 month clothes. There was a lot in the 6 month box, so I only took out my favorites, which was about half the box. Katie took another nap in the afternoon. I was feeling pretty tired too so I laid down on the couch and Mary was good about playing around me or reading her books. I finished organizing Katie's clothes and Mary and I got some good play time in before making dinner, sandwiches. We played outside for a while before Katie woke up. I cleaned up and bathed Mary. We got to hang out with Paul for a minute before bed. Katie had a rough night and was up 3 times and Mary woke up once screaming that there was a spider in her bed. Paul sometimes wakes up in a panic thinking there are bugs in our bed or room, they seem to have that in common.
Unfortunately we didn't get to sleep in on Saturday. We got to dance class just a few minutes late. They had some plumbing issues with the studio, so we were in the vacant space next door and just did ballet instead of both ballet and tap. We went home and had breakfast and changed. Then we went to the library where they were making balloon animals. Mary loved playing with the other kids and the balloons. The library was doing a rock activity after the balloons but Katie was getting too tired so we missed that activity. Katie didn't sleep for too long when we got home so I cleaned with her in the baby carrier. We played outside, it was pleasantly warm all day on Saturday. Katie then took a longer nap and I was able to exercise, shower, and play with Mary. We colored, played with the balloons from the library, and played in our guest room. Katie got up and had pooped a lot so I got her cleaned up before Paul got home but I fed her a little after. Paul got some weights he had his eye on at Walmart. He had to wait until today because we didn't have money in the budget for January but February is a new month! We got to help him take the weights out of the box then we had time to watch an episode of Seinfeld, "The Little Kicks" (our favorite episode). We watched a little of Finding Nemo for Mary before I put Katie to bed.
Sunday was relaxed since we moved to 10:30 church. We did yoga, I put Katie down for a nap, and bathed Mary. We were late to church, of course. We were too relaxed. Paul and I renewed our temple recommends during the second hour. We tried out the washing machine but it was a little hiccup-y. I got Katie down for a nap and am currently writing this entry out. Paul gifted me $200 for my birthday so I bought 24 gifts for myself off of Shein (clothes, shoes, and jewelry). It was twice what I was expecting, he was so generous! We're just watching TV and getting quality time as a family after a busy week.
