April 7-13, 2025
Monday morning Katie woke up shortly after Paul left for work. I brought her into the bed for cuddles where Mary joined us a little later. I got breakfast for Mary then we played in grandma's room until Katie went down for a nap. I got a call from Peter (potential violin student) and scheduled his first violin lesson for May 1. I put Moana on for Mary while I pumped then practiced violin. Mary thought I was more interesting than Moana, so she came and joined me. I am getting sick with what the girls have been fighting this last week, so I laid down on the couch and Mary played around me. Katie woke up, so I gave her a bottle and we watched Mulan. After Katie was done eating I folded the laundry and put it away. Katie was ready for another nap so I put her down then cleaned up around the house. I pumped again then practiced violin again, with a little more commitment. I did dscout then Katie was up again. I played with the girls then made dinner for Paul with Mary's help. Paul came home with treats and we spent time talking together before Christa and Lizzy came over for Lizzy's violin lesson. Paul put Katie to bed without any help from me and I put Mary to bed. I pumped then went to bed myself. Katie got up once in the night to eat.
Tuesday morning Mary woke me up and cuddled with me in bed. Katie woke up and I got her a bottle. Since we were all awake I fed her on the couch. Paul read a book to Mary before leaving for work. I was feeling pretty congested and tired, so I turned on the tv and saw that Cinderella Story was free and only had a few ads and I had just been thinking about that movie so I put it on and Mary watched it better than I thought she would. I, of course, liked it and I don't often get to watch chick flicks so it was fun. I put Katie down for a nap and pumped. Mary watched an episode of Spidey and his amazing friends then Katie woke up and I fed her some baby food, she actually ate it really well. I thought she got up after just a short nap because she was hungry so I put her down again then Mary and I played in grandma's room, well, I laid on the bed with a blanket and Mary played. Then Katie decided she wasn't going to nap so we moved to the room. I laid down on my bed with Katie and some toys. Katie played with the toys and her toes and Mary was climbing on, under, and around the bed, finding her own fun. After a while we moved to the couch and watched Dinosaur. Paul got home with Subway and snacks. We watched Don Bluth movies and Mary came with me to drop dinner off to the Derrick's who just had a baby boy. We also returned the Durocher's stroller they lent to us last week. We got home and I put Katie to bed then laid down on the couch until 7:30 when I brushed Mary's teeth and pumped. While I was on the couch with Paul and Mary, Mary went over to Paul and said, "I'm going to crush you, I'm going to smash you, I'm going to hurt you." Paul and I were shocked and figured she got it from Hulk on SpiderMan but it was still surprising. Paul put Mary to bed that night. Katie got up at 10 pm and 4 am to eat.
Katie didn't go back to sleep after eating, so she snuggled with me and Paul. Paul went to work at 7 and I put Katie down for a nap and pumped before Mary got up. Mary and I played in the playroom then made breakfast once Katie woke up. I bathed both the girls and took a shower before we walked to the park for a playdate with ShaLay and Megan and their girls. Megan also brought her niece, Emery. I think Mary was still feeling under the weather because she didn't engage with the other kids as much as normal, she just wanted to play in the dirt in the shade by herself most of the time, or be in the swing. Katie was smiley and relaxed most of the time we were there but fell asleep on the walk home. I put Katie in her bed once we got home and got lunch for Mary and me. I cleaned up our messy house and pumped. Mary and I played outside and Katie joined us when she woke up from her nap. Mary was persuading me to come outside with her by saying, "Mom, will you play outside with me? I'll give you a toy!" She is clever and sweet. Paul called to let me know he was on his way home. I knew if I didn't practice the violin before he came home I wouldn't do it today, so I put Katie in her pink bumbo chair and Mary was happy to play between the playroom and the office while I practiced. Paul brought Wendy's home for dinner and we watched Beauty and the Beast then half of Charlotte's Web. Paul put Katie to bed all by himself and I put Mary to bed then pumped. Katie got up at 10 pm and 4:40 am to eat.
Thursday morning, Paul warmed up the bottle for me and handed me Katie to feed while he worked out. I did not fully wake up to feed her. Once I woke up enough and she was done with the bottle, I put her back in her bed and tried to go to sleep until Mary came in for cuddles at 7. Paul went to work, Mary was especially tearful this morning to see him go. Both girls were up at this point so I turned on Miss Rachel and pumped. Then I ate breakfast and got us ready to go to the church for the REFIT class that Lindsay Durocher taught today. I shared my cereal with Mary, I asked her if she wanted more and she said, "No, I brushed my teeth." Mary loved playing with the kids and Katie was happy to be in her carseat with her bottle for almost the whole hour. I held her for the rest of the time and she fell asleep in the car on the way home. I put Katie in my room to sleep and put Charlotte's Web on for Mary so she could finish it. I made us lunch and cleaned up until Katie woke up. All 3 of us watched Princess and the Frog together then Katie took another nap and I pumped. Mary and I played outside then I brought Katie out with us once she woke up. She woke up a little early because the sound machine shut off, so she was a little ornery. We played in the dirt for a little while but then I put Katie back to bed. Paul got home soon after and we watched 101 Dalmatians 2 for Mary and had corn dogs for dinner. Katie woke up at 7 pm. I brushed Mary's teeth and pumped then Paul put Mary to bed and I tried to practice violin with Katie but she was ready to go back to bed. I snuggled with her for a bit before putting her in her bed. I practiced violin for 30 minutes then went to bed. Katie got up at 2 and 5:40 am to eat.
Friday morning I fed Katie and cuddled with her then Paul went to work. I put Katie down for a nap and watered the grass and pumped. Mary got up and watched Peter Pan while I finished pumping and watering the grass. I played with Mary, we put her fairy puzzle together then she put it away all by herself! We cleaned the house then I showered and we went to the library for reading time. We read books, sang songs, and did flower crafts. We made a simple book and Mary practiced using scissors and making flower art with glue and paper. We went to Walmart after to get some sunglasses for me and also got drinks, it was really warm and I left our water bottles at home. We went home and played in the backyard. I fed Katie outside then put her down for a nap. and pumped. Mary was too warm, so she came inside and we cuddled and watched a movie together. Paul got home then Katie woke up. We drove into town together and got treats and pizza from Papa Murphy's. We watched Swan Princess and Princess and the Frog together. I put Katie down for a nap and she slept long enough for me to pump then was up again. After the movies Paul put Katie to bed and I cleaned up our mess so we could be good the next day. I played with Mary and put her to bed then practiced violin before going to bed. Mary loved playing with legos and would say, "oops! I forgot something" while building. Katie got up twice to eat. The second time she got up Paul went to exercise after giving me a bottle, so I just kept Katie in the bed with me and we both went back to sleep.
Saturday morning Katie and I slept in until 8 am. Mary woke up at 7 and watched Miss Rachel while Paul did his ec's in the office. Mary eventually came in and woke us up, she was fighting with Paul because he was playing music on the tv and she wanted to watch a show, so she came in and got cuddles and calmed down then we all went out together and made breakfast. We made breakfast burritos and they turned out super yummy. We relaxed on the couch and put in a grocery order then I put Katie down, hoping she would fall asleep. I turned the sprinkler on to water the grass and started pumping but had to stop twice to comfort Katie, she wasn't ready to take a nap yet, so I put her in her swing and she watched a dinosaur show with Mary while I pumped and Paul did stuff for work. I put Katie back in her bed then went outside with Mary to finish watering the plants. I came in because I thought I heard Katie crying and sure enough, she was screaming. I was so sad she was distressed, I got her out of bed and put her in the baby carrier. I did some weeding with Katie in the carrier, she was happy to be held. Mary was having so much fun playing in the muddy puddles that resulted from the sprinkler. After we were done in the yard I bathed both girls and Paul gave Katie a bottle. She finally went to sleep and I did my exercising while Paul and Mary played together. I practiced violin and made lunch then got Katie up and we picked up our grocery order. Paul ran into Lowe's to get some top soil for us to seed our grass. We came home and I put Katie down for another nap and we watched Quest for Camelot. I pumped then Katie woke up. We watched Land Before Time then played outside. Paul ran to Walmart to get a little protein shake blender and got us treats while he was there. I brushed Mary's teeth, put Katie to bed then pumped. Paul put Mary to bed, which was fast because Mary was very helpful with bedtime, then Paul helped Katie while I pumped and she was sound asleep by the time I was done. She got up once at midnight to eat.
Sunday we were all up early. Katie got up at 6 am and Mary got up at 7 am. We watched TV and I pumped. Paul went to Raley's and got donuts for us for breakfast and I cleaned up the kitchen, living room, and our bedroom while he was gone. I got ready and Paul got Mary dressed then we went to church. I grabbed Wendys before heading home after church and we watched Spirit as a family. I had a RS meeting then took a nap. I got up and threw away all the garbage from our day of eating then pumped. Paul put Katie to bed and I put Mary to bed.
