March 31 - April 6, 2025
Monday Paul started work on the Monday to Friday schedule again. He was off to work early then Katie woke up with a poopy bum, so I changed her, fed her, and we played together until she was ready for her first nap. I put her down then pumped, Mary got up then. Once I was done Mary showed me an ant she had found, I went with her over to the TV and saw a lot of ants and that really grossed me out. Katie slept a while and I did a lot of cleaning in that time. I took literally everything out of the living room and found where the ants were coming from. I sprayed the opening and put an ant trap right there. I cleaned the tv, tv stand, and straightened up the wifi router situation. I cleaned the floor but unfortunately we were out of mopping fluid, so I just used a rag and multipurpose cleaner. I vacuumed the rug and couch then moved on to the table area and that's when Katie woke up. We went into Paul and my closet and straightened that up, then the bathroom, then the room. Katie went back to sleep and I pumped. Katie was up after that. I put clean sheets on mine and Paul's bed then moved on to the kitchen. I vacuumed Mary's room, the play room, and office. I cleaned Mary's bathroom, took out the trash then Paul called and told me he was coming home early. I canceled the violin lesson then we drove to Reno. It was snowing pretty hard and traffic was bad but we eventually made it and got pumpkin cookies at Smith's then got burgers at Red Robin. We got Mary her own meal but she must have started to feel sick because she had no appetite. I don't think the snowy weather helped with that. Paul got a migraine while we were out, so he went straight to bed then I put the girls to bed and pumped. Katie was up once in the night to eat.
Mary got up at 5:30 am Tuesday morning, I think she got up early because she couldn't breathe out of her nose and that disrupted her sleep. I put her back to bed but she got up and joined Paul in the office. He brought her to me at 6:30 am. Paul got a phone call from work at 7 am that really upset him so he started yelling and that woke us all up. He went to work and the girls and I sat on the couch and watched Bluey while we worked our minds up to waking up. I fed Katie and took a shower. Katie took a nap then I pumped and cleaned. I put Mary down for a nap but she didn't sleep for too long. I made dinner for Paul and cuddled with my sick girls then Paul got home. We watched a movie then I brushed Mary's teeth before putting Katie to bed. I pumped while Paul put Mary to bed. I fed Katie then we were all in bed. Katie got up once to eat.
Wednesday Paul woke me up at 5:30 am, which I was less than thrilled about, and told me we were going to Disneyland after he gets home from work. Well, I couldn't go back to sleep after that. Katie woke up early and Ifed her and pumped. Mary got up and I gave her some medicine and gatorade. We got ready and got gas, then went to Reno for Katie's 6 month doctor's appointment. She is growing really well and got her vaccines. We got donuts on the way home from Sprinkle Donuts, we like them because they have kolaches, which Paul loves, and they make this croissant breakfast sandwich that I'm obsessed with. We went to Walmart on the way home to pick up the order I placed that morning for our trip supplies (battery powered breast pump, snacks, etc.). We picked up the double stroller from Lindsay Durocher's house to borrow for the trip. When we got home I put Katie down for a nap then vacuumed out the car and moved Mary's car seat to the other side of the car. Katie didn't take to the nap, so I put her in her swing and she watched Three Caballeros with Mary while I got us ready. I moved Mary's seat so I could sit in the back with the girls and push the passenger seat all the way forward to create more space. I kind of cleaned and packed until we were ready to go. I took the trash can to the street and started the dishes then Paul got home. We got the car loaded up then set off. We stopped in Bishop, CA and got some Carl's Junior for dinner. We got to LA at 11 pm and got to bed at midnight. We told Mary that we were going to go see Donald Duck and she said, "But, but, I have so many questions!"
Thursday I was up at 5:40 and showered then pumped and got ready in the dark. We got the girls up at 7:15 then we went to Disneyland. We had a hard time finding parking, much to Paul's chagrin. We eventually got into the park at 8:50 am. We started off going to the Haunted Mansion ride, which was exciting because it has been closed the last two times we've gone. Mary was scared but not too scared. Then we went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, then the Winnie the Pooh ride. We got some churros then I went to the baby care spot to heat up a bottle for Katie. We had corn dogs for lunch then took a spin on the Mark Twain boat. We went over to Fantasy Land and Mary tried to pull the sword from the stone, then we went on the carousel. We did the teacup ride after that then we did Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Mary was in a climbing mood, so we took her to Tom Sawyer Island (now Pirate's Layer) and she ran around for a bit. We went to TomorrowLand where Paul got us pretzels then Paul and Mary did the Buzz Lightyear ride while I fed Katie then I took Katie on Pirates again. Paul took Mary to Winnie the Pooh and I got us a Mickey Mouse cookie and a brownie pie to share while I waited for them to be done on the ride. We did a lap around the park then ended up back in Adventure Land for dinner. We went on Haunted Mansion again then Paul took Mary on Pirates while I got Katie a warm bottle. We did Jungle Cruise, which was awesome at night, then I did Matterhorn while Paul took both girls on the Storybook boat ride. He is so awesome! We got done at the same time then went to do teacups and that one was beautiful at night with lanterns. Mary had the best time and was smiling and laughing the whole time we were in the teacup. We did the Peter Pan ride next which was having technical difficulties but we waited and it was our last ride. Paul took Mary to one of the gift shops for her to pick out a souvenir. She picked Mickey ears that had a butterfly with a gemstone and rainbow streamers. We left the park and just decided to walk to the car instead of taking the shuttle but I kept forgetting where we were supposed to turn and everyone was so tired and our feet hurt but we eventually made it and got back to the hotel. I pumped and we were in bed at midnight.
Friday we debated going to California Adventure but decided to go to Santa Monica Pier instead. I fed Katie and changed her, got her dressed, then took a shower and pumped. I got Mary ready then we got breakfast at McDonald's and drove an hour north to Santa Monica. We grabbed some snacks and a towel from Target then parked by the pier. We walked around to see what was there then I sat with the stroller and played with Katie while Paul took Mary into the arcade. We got lunch at Bubba Gumps and it was so delicious. I got shrimp stuffed with crab and lobster with mashed potatoes and Paul got coconut shrimp with french fries. We got concrete from another place but it was too rich, neither of us liked it. Katie tried the french fries and mashed potatoes. Mary ate french fries but she wanted to go to the beach and wasn't interested in eating. We took them to the Save the Bay aquarium that was under the pier and Mary loved the touching tanks and looking at all the fish. I was able to heat up Katie's bottle there and feed her before we went to the beach. We stayed for a couple of hours but it got windy and wasn't super warm, especially since the water was so cold. The girls loved playing in the sand and Paul was a good sport about it. After the beach we got the girls changed back into their clothes and Katie fell asleep in the stroller while Paul took Mary back to the arcade to use up the money card he bought in the morning. Paul got a pin and a tote bag for me then we left. Mary fell asleep as soon as the car started moving. We got pizza then drove back to the hotel. Nicole Hardman texted me while we were driving to say someone reached out to her about violin lessons and she wanted to refer them to me. I have a phone call with the potential student, Peter, next week. We'll see how that goes. We stopped at Target on the way home and I got us some treats then we got back to the hotel and I bathed the girls, showered, and pumped. It was hard to go to sleep because there were cars drag racing on the main road forever. It was awful but we eventually got to bed. I love how much time Paul and Mary had together the past two days.
Saturday we got up and I got some continental breakfast with Mary then we cleaned up the car and the room and packed up and left. We stopped outside of LA to get gas and use the bathroom. We drove until Bishop, CA and got Carl's Jr. again. We went to the park across the street, "duck park" - named for the mallard ducks who wanted some food and were begging and each of the picnic tables, Mary gotta get out and play on the playground. Katie loved being out of her car seat as well. We finished the drive home and stopped by Raley's for some last treats for the day. I put Katie to bed and pumped while Paul and Mary watched Dumbo. I put Mary to bed then finished my dscout mission. Katie got up once to eat.
Sunday morning I fed Katie then put her back in her bed. Mary walked in then for some cuddles. I went out and brought in all our stuff from the car before Katie woke up. I put her in her swing so I could pump. Paul went to Reno to get errands done (oil change for the Honda, get a haircut, Costco, Walmart), he was going to go to work too but something happened and he was able to just come straight home. I had General Conference playing on the TV but Katie was getting fussy so I switched it to Miss Rachel and listened to conference on my phone. I started to clean up our stuff from the trip then put Katie down for a nap. I showered and gave Mary a bath then Paul got home. We put groceries away then Katie woke up. She was back in the swing and watched spiderman with Mary while I pumped. I fed Katie then we all got in the car and went to Fallon. We tried out the barbecue restaurant down there and it was just okay. Paul got his work boots then we went to Fernley Walmart to try to give our leftovers to a homeless person but we couldn't find anyone. We looked around for a broccoli supplement Paul was interested in, looked at movies, then decided to just go home. Katie went to bed once we got home. We watched Sword in the Stone and I pumped. I brushed Mary's teeth then went to bed, I was feeling pretty sick and congested. Paul put Mary to bed. Katie got up once to eat.
