Katie is getting more mobile. She can climb up onto the couch (when Mary has removed the cushions so it's not so tall) and she can climb down on her own (as long as she doesn't go head first). She's getting her first molar! It's on the bottom right. I put her in her high chair for breakfast and she tapped her hands together to sign "more". It's the first time she's done that!
Mary has said so many funny things this week. She almost fell while playing and she said, "Woah, that was a close one." We were crossing the parking lot (with no cars coming) and she said, "The cars are going to squish us!" We played the crow game before bed and Mary was rolling the dice when she said, "Blue's coming up!" I was getting her out of the car when she said, "Mommy is the queen, Mary and Katie are princesses, and Dad is Your Highness!" She found a lamp in the office and brought it to Dad to plug in. We had it in the guest room before I put all of Mary's toys in there, so she associates it with Grandma Wendy. She hands it to Dad and says, "Can you turn on your mom's light?"
I officially started my month of Keto yesterday. I will do it until September 25th, just in time for me to have cake with Katie on her first birthday!
Dad had a meeting with the CTO at Redwood and got some well deserved credit for his hard work. He's sad his coworker, Noah, has quit.
Wednesday we went to the park at 9 am to play pickleball. Jessica joined us at 9:30, ShaLay came at 10, and Naomi came at 10:30. We played two games then Katie was tired so we packed up. I wish we could have played more but it was okay because the kids got to play on the playground and there was a birthday party for one of the kids in the homeschool group and Mary kind of invited herself and got a cupcake. Thursday we had exercise class at the church, Lindsay taught REFIT. Friday I took the girls to the pool and Mary befriended a little girl named Iris. They played for 2 hours. Saturday I went to the park to play tennis with Naomi but she didn't show up so I just worked on my serve and hit against the wall. She messaged 40 minutes later so I just said maybe we can meet next week, we'll see if that happens. That afternoon I watched K-pop Demon Hunters on Netflix with Mary. It's been blowing up on Social Media and it is actually a really cute movie with catchy music, good animation, and a good story of overcoming your demons.
