Katie likes to play a new game where she'll lightly bite my nose, cheek, or finger then I jump and say "ow!" and she laughs then does it again. She gives us high fives, loves to clap, waves, and blows kisses. She started walking while holding onto my hands. She is getting more confident and fast! Her favorite songs are Hop Little Bunnies and Wheels on the Bus. She loves to play peek-a-boo.
Mary said some funny things this week: We were on a walk in the stroller and we saw a couple walking on the other side of the street. Mary said, " he's walking in the road! He needs to walk on the sidewalk. Oh no! A car is coming!" (makes noises that imply the car hits the man walking in the street) (*cackles maniacally*). Mary was fixing her dress on her body and said, "I turned it backwards! I mean frontwards (laughs)". Mary and Katie were playing in the bath and Mary said, "Katie, you are so cute. You look like a lighthouse." She then proceeded to put a toy mirror on Katie's head. I was putting her to bed one of the nights and she said, "Mom, you cuddle with me then sleep in Mary's bed all night? Good deal?" Then she offered me a thumbs up. She pronounces animal "amnal". In one of her games she liked calling us friends, example: "What are you doing, friends?" She's getting better and better at reading and this week she started practicing writing.
Mom found some free treasures this week. We got a knife and fork wall hanging for the kitchen and some more drawers then a hanger for neckties.
Dad said some funny things this week too. I told him I had put KitKats and Reese's in the candy dish while I was gone for him, Grandma Wendy, and the girls to have while I was gone. He asked where the rest of the candy was that didn't fit into the dish and I didn't tell him before going to church. He then texted me at church and said, "You can try all you want to hide things but sooner or later my superior and penetrating mind will always figure it out. I'm always three steps ahead." I replied, "You are three steps ahead but a week late." I sent him a group picture from my Disney trip and he replied, "Why does Amelia always look slimy in every picture? Looks like she got flushed down the toilet and crawled her way back out.
Monday I taught violin. I had my Saturday students come to this class for a makeup class for the one I missed while I was out of town. They played through Jolly Old Saint Nicholas all the way through, I was so happy! My new student, Amelia, did not want to participate, so that was tricky. Tuesday Mary had dance class. Jessica Allen and I talked in her car with Katie while we waited for Mary and Addie to be done. Wednesday we had a park playdate. Lindsay, ShaLay, Penelope, Arielle, and Jessica all came. That night, for Mutual, Lindsay taught REFIT. Thursday Lindsay taught the exercise class and rev+flo. Friday I took the girls to the store and we set up a movie night party to celebrate Dad's birthday. We got pizza and garlic bread, root beer, I made pumpkin s'more bars for his cake, then I got boxes of candy to look like the movie concessions candy. I wanted to get red and white popcorn boxes but I couldn't find them anywhere so I just put the popcorn in our big popcorn bowl. I also got Paul some of his favorite candy bars. We watched Young Frankenstein and had a great time laughing together. Mary and Katie loved playing with some balloons we blew up. Saturday we went to Fallon for Dad's birthday breakfast then went to Lattin Farms. We looked at the animals, the craft fair, and did the corn maze. I taught violin in the afternoon and did a fun Halloween class. We did some Halloween themed theory games then I gave them some candy. That night I took the girls to the tri-ward trunk or treat. Mary dressed up as Elsa and Katie dressed up as Anna, sisters from the movie Frozen. Mary got a unicorn balloon, played games, won prizes, then we trick-or-treated to lots of cars outside. It was super fun and she got a lot of candy! Sunday morning I cleaned the house then showered and bathed the girls before going to church. Dad put together a presentation for work. Kim taught a good lesson on staying patient and faithful through trials in young women.
