Katie says up, down, and go clearly. She took 3 steps all by herself this week! She loves climbing and chasing Stella at Grandma Wendy's house.
Mary: A little girl in Grandma Wendy's ward was sitting next to Mary and they were telling each other how old they were. Mary said 3 and the girl said, “I’m 6, in two years I’ll be baptized” Mary: that’s funny! Girl: It's not funny. When I get baptized, that means I get the gift of the Holy Ghost. Mary: oh, spooky!
Mom: It was a crazy week of driving between Nana and Grandma's house but the girls loved playing with animals and dress ups at Grandma's house and all sorts of toys in Nana's kid-corner.
Dad enjoyed his time driving around Japan and seeing Hiroshima but is ready to be home again.
Monday we got ready and went to Nana's house. We went to the zoo together and had lunch at Costa Vida. We went back to Grandma Wendy's house and made gingerbread houses. I went to Whitney (Corbett) Rogers house that night and hung out with Whitney and Alex Hooper. We had fun talking and catching up with each other.
Tuesday we hung out at Nana's house in the morning then had a playdate with Collette in Millcreek. It was so fun to see her, Mary had a lot of fun with Avery and Addie. They bought a new house and are renovating it and it already looks so good. I also got to meet Beckham, he is a chunky, sweet baby! We got back to Nana's house and I thought we were going to meet Wendy in Salt Lake to see a live nativity but we misunderstood each other and she was going to Lehi on a date to a different live nativity. So we ended up staying at Nana's house and going to bed early, which the girls and I really needed.
Wednesday we slept in until 9:30 and saw Nana off to her temple shift. I exercised and showered. I cleaned up our mess downstairs then did our laundry. I cleaned out Nana and Grandpa's fridge and made a turkey and rice casserole for dinner. We watched a TinkerBell movie together with Grandpa and Nana then went to bed.
Thursday we went to the Clark Planetarium with Nana then got lunch at Greek Souvlaki. We went to Walmart on Parley's and Nana got some things she needed then spoiled the girls and got them some new clothes. We went to Nordstrom Rack and Nana bought me some cute leather ankle boots, Mary pink Hunter boots, and sparkly Sunday shoes for baby Katie. Nana got a great deal on a cardigan too. We came home and I looked through the music books to see if I could find violin sheet music for Christmas songs. We had dinner together then watched Raya and the Last Dragon before going to bed.
Friday it snowed again. I got us ready and in the car then saw that Sam and Terry wouldn't be able to spend time with us that afternoon. Clare let me know as well that she would be a little late. For the first time we were decently early, so I took the girls to McDonald's for breakfast then we drove down to Cedar Hills to the Funrise Indoor playground there. It was so great for the girls, they had a blast. Clare met us there and it was fun for us to catch up and play with the girls. We went to lunch at Cafe Rio after then I dropped her off to Chandler. He was working a job in the neighborhood, so it really worked out! I called Terry to confirm her plans and there wasn't enough time for us to see them so we went back to Nana's house. Part of I-15 was closed due to the snow, so we drove through the mountains and got on the freeway in Sandy. Mary said she wanted to play with Eliza, so that night Eliza and Ryan brought home Mexican food and we ate together and played Hues and Cues. Mary did really well!
Saturday we met up with Wendy for brunch in Farmington. It was for people who had lost a family member and they did pictures with Santa. Mary was very nervous but was brave and took pictures with him. We were hoping that Dad would get back from Japan in the afternoon but it got cancelled. We spent the day at Grandma's house. After the brunch we went to Kohl's to get Andy a tie for his dance that night. Mary got some colorful hair clips. We got lunch at Plates and palates and I got us cookies from Crumbl. Katie and Grandma took a nap and Mary and I watched a movie. We went to see Elaine and played dominos before getting dinner at Apollo burger.
Sunday we went to church with Grandma. After church Grandma and Katie took a nap then Grandma had a meeting with the Stake Primary presidency. I packed us up and we picked Dad up from the airport then had dinner at Nana and Grandpa's house. It was super yummy. Nana made fresh sourdough and a yummy caprese salad that were my favorite. We played swoop (card game) and sequence.
